Prior to Covid, I could walk into this establishment with confidence that I was going to receive good service and good food. Since the pandemic, these areas have been "hit or miss." Sometimes, the service is really good. Sometimes, it's lousy. Sometimes, the food is really good. At other times, it's unimpressive. Thankfully, our visit on 1-15-25 proved to be a good one. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, and respectful, and she checked on us often. She provided refills as needed, and, when my second Arnold Palmer tasted "off" (in comparison to the first one, which had been wonderful), she promptly took it back and replaced it with a new one. She didn't get angry or frustrated over that. That was great, because sometimes servers these days, when it's hard for restaurants to find workers, don't care to let you know that they're annoyed if you nicely ask them to replace something that just isn't good. (I think they might've used unsweetened tea in the second one, but she got the issue fixed quickly.) We had a server there once who actually just brought us tea, and when we told her that Arnold Palmers were a mixture of tea and lemonade, she said, "Well, how about I just bring some lemonade out and let you mix it up?" On another occasion, this same waitress dropped the "f bomb" as she mumbled to herself about something. On 1-15-25, however, our waitress was great, and our food was great. I love the broccoli cheddar chicken! I wish CB would make it a daily staple on the menu and not just a weekly special. Also, I'm disappointed that portion sizes have decreased and prices have increased. CB has loyal customers, and I think we deserve better treatment than that. Again, though, as for the 1-15-25 visit, it was great. (We WERE disappointed that they couldn't accommodate our request to sit by the fire. There was an open table, but the server for that table was on lunch break. I feel that, in these cases, to honor the customer's request, they could just assign that table to the server who waited on us at the other table. That's just a...
Read moreI love breakfeast and cheesecake. So, when I saw they had Stuffed Cheesecake Pancake Breakfast on the menu I was psyched out thinking how much I was going to love this meal. Even if I could not eat the pancakes I could tear up that cheesecake. My eggs and sausage were good, nothing special or bad, just how one would think eggs and sausage would be. However, those cheesecake pancakes with strawberry syrup sounded like two things when put together would be something wonderful. A little back story on my thought. I think Cheesecake Factory has outstanding cheese cake of all kinds. Mixed in with cake, red velvet cake, almost any kind of filling or candy, etc. I ordered the stuffed cheesecake pancake breakfast thinking (At least in my mind) a piece of cheese cake between or on top of or under the pancakes with some awesome tasting strawberry syrup. (I was very good) There was no picture on the menu of that item. So, my imagination ran wild of what I would get. What I got was nothing like what I imagined and it tasted nothing like cheese cake. I am sure there are some who will like this meal but it is not me. It was so bad I completly forgot to take a picture of it. Think of melted cream cheese poured on one pancake and folded in half. Terrible taste and the visual appeal was unappealing. I am not sure it was even cream cheese. I can tell you for sure it is not cheese cake at all. I had to use the restroom like many a person does. However, the bathroom was very nasty. I tried to clean off a commodeand just gave up. The pic of the commode is after I tried to wipe it off. See for yourself how nasty it was. I did tell one of the girls walking with the merchandise area and was told they would pass it along. For me that nasty restroom and my experience with the cheesecake pancakes is why I rated two stars. Three stars is an average what you expect from an area. Four is about that giving you something more. In my case it was below overall expectations. The service was FANTASTIC and she was extremely busy with...
Read moreWas hoping for a great first-time experience for my boyfriend at Cracker Barrel, as I have already been to other locations many times in the past. We wanted a good breakfast before getting back on the road to Tennessee. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly host and the woman behind the counter. She asked us if we would be eating breakfast or lunch and gave us both menus to choose from. We were sat in the back section at around 11:00am. There were about 5 other tables with people when we were sat and there appeared to be 2 waitresses working that section, so not busy by any means. The waitress took about 5 minutes to acknowledge us, stating that she would be right with us. It took almost 10 more minutes for her to take our order. We ordered 2 Grandma's Samplers, orange juice, and hot tea. We did not get our food until after 12:00pm and it was cold. I'm sorry, but I have worked in the restaurant business and it doesn't take 45-60 minutes to make eggs and pancakes. We hate to suggest this, but we feel like our food was left on the rack on purpose. There is no excuse for the quality of food and service we received. The restaurant was clearly not busy, and even if it took the cook a while to make our order, it should have still been hot if the waitress brought it out right away. Another gentleman was sat next to us at about 11:50am and received his food at the same time we did, just after 12:00pm. Horrible! Since the waitress wasn't rude, we gave her the benefit of the doubt and tipped her very well. I hope she and the management review their level of service they offer "out of towners" and make necessary adjustments. What we had planned to be a 30 minute pit stop, ended up taking an hour and a half, which messed up our plans to stop at another attraction before making our 3pm check-in to our resort. Just do better Cracker Barrel, friendly, fast, EQUAL service is not...
