Placed an order at 7:30pm for my daughter and I. Pizza got here in decent time. It was the wrong order. Called back, ‘manager’ answered and I’ve talked with many managers in my lifetime - this one was by far the worst ‘communicator’ (that’s being nice) I’ve ever ever run into.
She did not listen to me, she was clearly doing something else the whole time she was on the phone with me. I had to ask her to stop and listen many times as I was trying to get the right pizza to the house. She literally asked me over and over if it was for carry out or deliver - like an automated robot that was malfunctioning. ‘Uh’ and ‘yeah’ were her favorite words. It took ten minutes on the phone to get her to say she would make the right pizza. An hour and a half later I called back. She freaked out and said, ‘yeah... your pizza is in the oven’ - I politely asked ‘what is the eta?’ - guess what she said? ... ‘uh...’ and then dead silence. I asked again, ‘what is the eta?’ She replied, ‘what does that mean?’ - I said, ‘what is the estimated time of arrival?’ She stuttered, ‘I’ll have a driver bring it to you.’ I said, ‘oh good, you’ll have a driver bring it to me?’ She stuttered more, ‘yeah!’ (Clearly not sensing my sarcasm or answering my question).
Well, long story short, two hours later I call back again. She answers again, and shockingly doesn’t seem frustrated with me calling... she just politely asked me if it’s for ‘pickup or delivery?’ I say, ‘it’s me again’ - dead silence... lots of dead silence. At this point I start playing a little game. I keep really quiet and stay on the line hoping that she’ll engage with me. She doesn’t! I literally hear her doing all kinds of other things and she just keeps me on the line. I finally beak the silence and mutter, ‘mam?’ - she doesn’t respond... ‘mam?’ ... finally I get (that’s right) ‘yeah...’ from her. I say, ‘let me paint you a picture... I ordered a pizza over two hours ago and it’s still not here and you haven’t even asked me if I want a refund or offered to do anything to help me or smooth things over...’ (dead silence) ... ‘mam?’ ... ‘mam?’ ... finally I say ‘MAM!? Are you even listening to me?’ ... she responds, ‘yeah, that pizza just went out the door and is on it’s way...’ ... Astounded, I belt out in a quick burst of laughter, ‘are you serious? ... can you just refund my card? ... forget the pizza.’ She says, ‘yeah, I’ll do that.’ ... I stopped her from hanging up to remind her, ‘you have done absolutely nothing I’ve asked this evening... not one thing... how am I to know you’re going to refund my card?’ She (even still distracted) stutters, ‘I’ll just do it?’ (like I’m the idiot who doesn’t know how a card is refunded). I asked for a receipt or some kind of proof... an email, anything! I waited another 5 minute in silence to determine whether or not she was going to do anything for me.
Finally, after a long while, she says the money should be back on the card. I pull up my bank app and, no... no refund. BUT, I do see I’ve been charged twice for the same order! Wheeeeee! Just then, nearly three hours later, my pizza arrives... kids are in bed, everyone asleep... but I got that pizza. I hung up with the incompetent ‘manager’ and will be talking with what the driver told me was ‘the real real manager’ tomorrow. The pizza wasn’t that great. Definitely wasn’t worth double the price. :/
Unlikely I’ll be ordering from this...
Read moreI have ordered from the Clays Mill Domino's for 8 years, since I've lived in this neighborhood. When I order delivery, they get here fast. When I order pickup, they have it ready. I don't normally rave about a pizza place, but this particular Domino's has their act together. Honestly, any other pizza place is a gamble, usually some other place will get it right or get here within an hour, sometimes not. With Clays Mill Domino's, there is no gamble involved, they have their act together. Even when I order delivered, 95% of the time they're here under 1/2 hour. And on the rare occasion I have a criticism, they go above and beyond to make it right. That's 8 years of ordering from Clays Mill. This crew works their butt off, and provide the...
