Although relatively a small chain, a chain nonetheless. That being said, I must say Donatos' pizzas are delicious! I go back to when they first came to Lexington at their Main Street location - and have never been disappointed from the get go. Their pies always are very satisfying. During all these years, I've only had the style they made a name for, the thin crust. A little crispy on the bottom with their sauce, cheese and toppings well proportioned and executed. No need for anything extra. No skimping from Donatos! This evening I went with the veggie adding spicy Italian sausage. Perfect! I happened to go through Uber Eats (special promotion) for my late night pizza fix. The Maple Leaf location never disappoints. After I placed my order on the Uber app, I called the store for confirmation (I find always a good idea regardless which food delivery company you choose). Paper plates, napkins, utensils, crushed reds and grated parmesan cheese. No problem. The fella who helped me at the store (terrible on my part - forgot his name) was very pleasant and assured me he would make sure my order was complete. And lo and behold, a knock on the door and my Uber gal handed me my order in no time! From the time I placed my order until my first bite took maybe forty minutes. Nothing missing. Pizza was warm as though it had just been slid out from the oven. Delicious! When Lexington's "boutique" pizza joints have called it a night, give Donatos a chance. In fact, give them a chance anytime you desire a pie unlike any others in town (great subs and salads as well)!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the second time coming to Donatos in my life. They gave me a half order of wings and a pizza when I ordered a full order. No big deal, the manager gave me a phone in credit. Pleasant person to deal with. On my return trip appr. 2 weeks later I used the credit to get the same order with my full order of wings this time. I get the pizza home and me and my wife start to enjoy the pizza, as I pray over the food I notice a leg (insect) on her paper plate. We take a closer look at the whole pizza and there is a full bug baked into the cheese. I get up and take the pizza back and speak with Victoria? I believe. I came in, no greeting, no greeting the first time either. I said "there is a bug on this pizza I would like a refund". She opens the pizza and picks up the bug and frowns at me and says this is not a bug. I asked for the back staff to come verify, they agreed with me legs, wings, two eyes, mouth it's a bug. I told Victoria to not insult my intelligence. She continued with her denials still and NEVER just said the words to diffuse any customer, "I'm sorry, let me get you a refund, another meal?" As I walked out I told everyone have a nice day (shouldve been the other way around) and no one said a thing. Sad face for Donatos, Victoria...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVictoria poured her heart and soul out for your store for over 7 years. A hardworking, single, mother of 2, she worked her way up to being the GM of the store. She was dependable, paid attention to detail, honest, and went above and beyond to make sure she gave the best product and service to the customer. Working double shifts, 6 and 7 day weeks, while she begged upper management for help to no avail. After a huge roach outbreak, you fire her for the numbers being down? Seems you needed a scapegoat. I guarantee if she were male, she would not have received this kind of treatment. There is no way this is a legit firing. It's a petty excuse to get rid of the best GM you've had in years. The new owners must be proud of themselves for this. Personally, I think the bottom line is she worked too hard for you and you didn't want to give her what she is worth. Good luck finding someone to fill her shoes. It's a shame to treat loyal employees like this! No wonder you have so much turnover. Maybe if you dug in your pockets a little more you could have more quality employees like her and restore the reputation you used to have. A little appreciation goes a long way. Instead she got the...
