El Charro Authentic Mexican Cuisine — Restaurant in Lexington

My wife was sick and she ask me to get her some food. She wanted a cheese enchilada beans an rice. She likes the chain restaurant 'Chuy's' which is a mile from this place. I live on Polo Club so I thought we would try for somthing better than Chuy's. SO I went in an orderd said food. Took it home to her a it was full of super fine ground beef. The beans where so liquidy they needed a cup. She throw it in the trash and told me not to worry about it. I immediately sent them and e-mail and told them about the mix-up. Also that I worked in the same shopping center I didn't ask for a discount which is coustom with 'most' of the merchants I also left a 20% tip for a carry that took 4 mins for them to hand me my 'order'. I never heard a word from them? So today 3 days later I thought I would stop by and get my money back due mainly to the lack of respones from them. I handed the 'manger' my receipt and told him of the mix-up. He looked at me an said "well I do'nt know Uh did you take a picture of it". Thats where it ended. I left with no refund an being accused of trying to grift an $13 lunch. BAD BUSINESS PS. The food is really sub -par. Go find out...

The food was great and the prices are very reasonable! I had the chicken fajitas with rice and beans and loved it. I’ve noticed that a lot of Mexican restaurants rice and beans are just an afterthought, but that is definitely not the case here. They both have great flavor, especially the refried beans (You can tell that they are made from scratch). The chips and salsa was also very good. The salsa has a really fresh flavor to it. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! The decor is modern, clean, and well lit. The service was great! My server was very friendly and attentive, and the owner introduced herself and checked on me twice. She said that they have only been open in this location for 10 months but said that they have been in business for 10 years with their location on Harrodsburg Rd. The best part of my order was the pre packaged tortilla chips. There was not one thing that was even close to good. The side of beans were soupy and bland. Corn tortillas looked like they were run over by a large SUV with the added benefit of a freezer burned taste. The chicken was very dry with the texture of packing material. Compared to to this place Taco Bell is Michelin Star

Update. El Charro responded that they will comp me a meal to make it right. Well after a week after I sent an email to take them up on their offer I still have not heard back on the comp meal . So, their promises are like their food, both worthless.

Update 2. El charro did come through with gift card . I will give them a try again.
