āCannot put cheese in your waffle because the batter is premade.ā Hereās a thought...Um you could just sprinkle the cheese onto the batter and then close the griddle maybe. Or just simply say no it canāt be done. Because the reason given just doesnāt quite make sense. Also upcharge for cheese was left on bill and presented but no cheese was served. They offered to remove it after we brought it up but we declined. No fancy coffees at this cafe. They have coldbrew on the menu. Does not have espresso. Regular coffee is bold and velvety smooth. Nice flavor. No dirty sock water coffee served here. Coffee taste is thumbs up. āCleanā empty coffee cups are preset on tables before you sit down.. our ācleanā coffee cups had dried coffee drip stains on the outside of the cup before we used them and we were served coffee in them. Offered paper coffee cups at the end of our meal for us to take to go coffee which was a very nice touch to service, but our pot was empty and the urn was dumped out before refilling us. Refill of our cups or our pot was not offered during meal. Offered to brew us another pot but we declined. We had a coffee spill at our table. Asked in a hurry for napkins to clean up. Host doing rollups at the front counter one table away and across from us didnāt run to help with any napkins. Our server brought one napkin and partly wiped the edge of the table. We had to ask for more so I could wipe the bench as well and not get any more coffee spilling onto my lap from across the table. Waffle was very light and fluffy, like a slice of white bread..not crispy. So soft that a fork couldnāt cut it. Waffle perhaps best eaten by hand as a foldover. Berry compote wonderful and not too sweet. If you like thin crispy bacon this will do fine. Medium thinness on the thin bacon scale. Huge coffee colored like stain on ceiling tile could use replacing. Overall nice atmosphere. Has a couple of outdoor tables. Indoor booth tables are not bolted to the wall or to the floor and are movable. Restaurant is ground level accessible from the parking lot. First visit here. Good for User type: couples brunch date, informal business meetup, singles friends social, Parents with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt usually write reviews, especially poor ones, but I feel like I have to in this case. Before today I always had good experiences, and loved it, but we mostly go to a different location. My husband and I went for lunch dining in at the broadway location today, and a couple things went wrong. The silverware they gave me still had food on it, which during this pandemic is honestly really concerning. The other was that I was told the muffin of the day was blueberry, so that is what I ordered, but they brought me a chocolate muffin instead, without telling me it was switched or anything. Mostly this was just a disappointment to me and not major, because I donāt like chocolate so I ended up leaving hungry still. I will add that some of the staff were apologetic and nice and they did remove the muffin from our check. But they did leave the gross food-covered dirty fork on our table throughout our lunch even after I showed them and asked for a new set, which made me super nauseous (though I am currently pregnant and more sensitive to that kind of stuff). Hopefully theyāll take more care cleaning the silverware in the future, though we most likely will avoid this location...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile there was a 20 min wait to be seated, this was expected on Sunday morning around noon. Once seated, the waitress promptly took and brought our drinks (coffee and fresh juice) and then took our order. The food was delivered within 20 minutes and was fresh and warm. I ordered the Chickichanga and the wife ordered the Farmhouse Skillet hash. The skillet was exactly as expected with eggs cooked to order with breakfast meats and potatoes. All of that was cooked properly and my wife enjoyed her meal. The Chickichanga was something special I had never considered ordering before but am glad I did. It was the prefect balance of spicy and breakfast smothered in a green chili sauce and sour cream. This is by far the best thing I've ever ordered at First Watch and look forward to having it again. Our beverages were checked on a few more times and we were able to pay and be on our way quickly. This location was clean and the staff was friendly the entire time we were there. I'd return to this location the next time I am...
