Bayou Bluegrass Catering — Attraction in Lexington

After a few other high price quotes and having issues getting a caterer to answer my questions.. I posted on a FB wedding group that I needed help. Bayoiu Bluegraas stepped in with their amazing customer service and impressed me right off the bat answering me promptly and courteously. We live over 9 hours away so we based our selections off of descriptions and IG pics, with guidance from John Newton we were able to create a menu that was exciting and even add on to have our salads already plated - which I highly recommend because it creates an elegant look! We had a few hiccups with our wedding venue and needed tables and chairs and then didn’t.. John was helpful and patient with all of our changes, never making me feel stressed about my day.. John showed up on time with Alex and Johnny to set up, the peach salad was amazing! My fiancé ate it and he doesn’t enjoy salads very often! Time came to enjoy our buffet and omg.. everything was sooo delicious!! Brisket, chicken, green beans and risotto .. oh the risotto!! Everything was heated perfectly and tender and juicy! My fiancé and I were taking pics and had missed the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres but Johnny and Alex ensured we got taken care of with our own plate of them :). Our guests also raved about how wonderful all the food was and great John, Johnny and Alex were.. and to top it all off .. when we hadn’t even thought about who was going to put out and serve desserts we had brought from home .. they stepped in again and saved the day! Above and beyond amazed at how wonderful and accommodating Bayou Bluegrass was for our.wedding day, and if I’m ever in need of a catered meal event in KY I would 100% not hesitate to call them. We set up meetings with a few caterers in the area. One of them we knew would be a tasting that we were charged over $100 for. It was okay, if not a bit stodgy, and they didn't even let us keep any of the food. Our meeting with Bayou Bluegrass was just supposed to be a sit-down to talk through initial details and needs, and instantly Shanna made us comfortable and gained our trust without even trying. She was so relaxed and knew exactly where we were coming from for everything, and her confidence was unbelievably comforting. Not only that, she even let us taste some of the dishes they were making back in the kitchen that afternoon, and everything was absolutely delicious. The mac'n'cheese was so good that we decided to do an entire mac'n'cheese station at our reception and it was a smash hit. All of the food was delicious and timely and the right temperature, and Shanna was on top of everything. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day of, and even in the months leading up she answered all our questions promptly and changed our proposal a thousand times without complaining, which she definitely had every right to do given how many emails we sent. Y’all…I cannot tell you how happy we are to have worked with Bayou Bluegrass for our wedding day!!! Casey worked with us on all the details from the food to place settings and was so nice and communicative! On the day-of, we had tons of compliments on the food! People are always nice about things on your wedding day, but having also eaten it myself as the bride, I can confirm it was DELICIOUS! I wish I could have that meal every night for a straight week lol! And the highlight of the day - RENNE!!!! Oh my goodness I could sing this woman’s praises forever! Renne lead the catering team that day and she was SO sweet! She made sure my husband and I had a plate of hors d’oeuvres waiting for us when we got to our sweetheart table, that we had drinks throughout the night, brought us our dinner plates, and made sure all our loved ones were well taken care of. I’m still in awe at how her and the team jumped right in without us having to lift a finger! Wedding Day is almost a blur with all the moving parts and jumping from one place to the next, and I can’t tell you what a huge help it was to have Renne and the team take care of us. She even set out extra drinks at the end of the night and made us to-go boxes! We felt so cared for and well-fed! If you’re looking for a caterer, I can’t recommend Bayou...
