Ahhhh what can I say about Lupita's that hasn't already been said? Firstly, its one of the few establishments in Lexington that serves actual bona fide authentic Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is humble, but light and fun and it always smells delicious. If it's your first time here, you can't go wrong with some classic street-style tacos. I recommend the Carne Asada and Pastor (skirt steak and pork, respectively) as the standouts. The Lengua tacos are actually pretty tasty too. (For the full experience, go sans cheese. It just takes away from the slightly charred flavor of the meat.) The tortillas are also cooked on the griddle and the slight greasy crispiness they have is the cherry on top of this decadent Mexican taco cake. It's spectacular. Burritos are delish too (and gigantic). Posole on Thursdays is really stinking good too. Rice and beans are just like abuelita makes,(No seriously, my abuela still makes them) and the staff is really nice too. Checkout is kind of a pain (some folks order up front, some folks wait for their orders to be taken at the table; pro tip: order up front, it makes it easier for everyone.) but aside from that the place is charming and just a gem. No bathrooms, but plenty of Mexican coke, so make sure you can hold it through the length of your visit. Note: this is a small establishment, almost like a covered stand, size-wise. Gigantic parties...
Read moreI have loved this food for years with only a few hiccups along the way but today I ordered one of my two usuals and the chicken was so tough I couldn’t even eat the food and so I called as one would do in hopes that they would remake the food and it be like normal HOWEVER, when I returned with the food I was promptly given PART of my money back and when I questioned it they legit said “you didn’t bring the taqueria sauces back”. I literally was charged for two sauces I can do nothing with because they didn’t even remake my order. When I left the sauces at home it was because I anticipated them remaking it. The food here is ALMOST ALWAYS delicious BUT the service leaves much to be desired. We spend a ton of money here every week, I’m certain I order here atleast 4 times a week and they do NOT CARE. I am beyond frustrated with...
Read moreIf you have driven through downtown Lexington you have likely passed this establishment and not paid much notice but I promise you that if you just try this place once you will never forget it. If anything you will crave it because it will call to you.
The Menu: The recipes are so flavorful and yet so simple ! The meat is well seasoned and is accompanied with fresh onions and cilantro. The sauces accompany just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. Simply put each dish is a work of art, just close your eyes and enjoy.
Wait time : Your order is prepared relatively quick.
Simply put each individual always had a handful of meals that can always come back to. A dish that just at the mere thought of it makes their mouth water. For me this is one of...
