I’m so disappointed in having to write a review, as I sent two emails to the address Papa John’s had provided on other negative reviews but I have yet to hear a response from them. I have rarely ordered delivery lately, especially since my mom had quadruple bypass surgery. I’ve been helping with her recovery and have purposely not ordered delivery via DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. They have no regulations on checking their employees for symptoms of Covid except having to go by their contractors’ words of not being sick or being around those who are. When I returned home for the wknd to check on my house, I decided to order from Papa Johns bc they have their own delivery employees (who would not be at work experiencing symptoms and the store having to abide by CDC standards). When I ordered off PJ’s app, it did not state it would be delivered via DoorDash. When I looked at the status of delivery on the Papa Tracker, it showed it was almost to my home, being delivered via DoorDash by a male’s name. Sure enough, the very thing I’ve been trying to avoid happened. Imagine how increasingly upset I became when not a man (according to DoorDash’s info), but an unknown woman delivered my pizza. Not only did I not know who was delivering my pizza, but neither did DoorDash or Papa Johns. I ended up throwing everything away. If the person who delivered my pizza isn’t using their own profile or name with DoorDash, how do I know they are being honest with their own health? Overall, it’s a security issue on both companies. They literally have no clue who is delivering their products or contracting. Grant it, the woman was extremely friendly and pleasant. Under normal circumstances, I’ve ordered via DoorDash and have no issue with it. During a pandemic, I 100% support people needing/working for money. My issue with this order is that I specifically ordered PJ’s bc they have their own drivers, hopefully being regulated per CDC/Health Dept standards and I’ve never had a non-PJ driver deliver before. I’ve restrained even ordering food in general during my mom’s recovery, as not to take chances; but I had just driven several hours back to Lex, had no food in my home bc I had been gone helping my parents for over 3 wks and was completely exhausted. I figured I’d be safe. I would’ve called to complain but I had previously called this store and a call center answered. It took a 5 mins convo to find out when their delivery service ended. The man could barely understand me, had to put me on hold to call the store, then return back to me to answer my question. I didn’t want to leave a negative review, as not to hurt their ratings, so decided to email them personally. After sending two emails and waiting for a response, here I am. All of this for a $20+ order being thrown away, a lot of hassle/frustration and zero help from the company. So...
Read moreSlow delivery, incorrect orders, incredibly rude staff. I gave Papa John's another chance after they split with Schantter, but I shouldn't have bothered.
We ordered a pizza last week, which took over an hour to be delivered, and it was missing the extra sauce we paid for. The gentleman who delivered it was friendly and apologetic, at least. We called the store to let them know the pizza was cold and the order was incomplete, the manager we spoke offered to send a replacement order back out. We refused because it was already past 11pm at this point, so he offered to put a note on the account for a free order the next time we ordered.
Fast forward to today, and we call to try again. The woman who answered the phone was hostile almost immediately, insisting that we could only get the order carryout. We explained that we already paid a delivery charge and tipped the driver for the first order, which went into the garbage. I was planning on tipping today's driver, regardless, but I wasn't going to pay a second delivery fee for their mistake. She then claimed she personally delivered the order, and she knows the missing sauces were actually there. As I mentioned before, our original driver was clearly a portly gentleman.
So if you're in the market for a hostile staff to make part of your order and deliver it cold in a couple hours, you've found your restaurant. As for me, I'm glad there's a...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could. I ordered a pizza order online and after an hour I hadn’t received it so I called the store to find out they didn’t have a driver and was going to Uber eats my order to me. Nobody had contacted me to ask if I was ok waiting the extra time or if I might be able to pick up. The manager was very unprofessional and it took 3 calls and having some kid lay the phone down to even get to speak to anyone. I aaa told I would be credited for my order as we had to pick it up an hour and 20 min later and the manager is a liar as I never received this. There’s way better pizza in town. I would not do business with this place based upon the poor...
