They are a bunch of jerks. I live out of town and I was wanting to call them to see if they were open because every time I've tried to stop there, they've been closed - even though their hours say that they are open. And they will not "answer" their phone - they just keep hanging up, and hanging up, and hanging up. I guess the constant hang-ups are their answers?
So, my review... do not even give this place business. They do not deserve it.
Giving one star based on... impression from stopping by during their claimed open hours but no one was there. Also for the fact that I cannot try their food, even though I have stopped by multiple times while in town because it always sounded good. And their lack of professionalism for repeatedly hanging up on guests.
And one star for... The atmosphere because they clearly do not have one and what they state is not factual.
Not reviewing the food since I've had zero success in actually trying it.
Huge disappointment thus far.
Give your business to Freddy's. They have excellent hotdogs. Or any other restaurant in Lexington if you choose to vacate the idea...
Read moreThe food is great. I asked for my chili on the side because I was traveling through and would be eating it at home which I live in a different town and the guy seemed a little annoyed by it and asked a few extra questions as to why I wanted it on the side. Everything I ordered was very good the pulled pork very much surprised me with how good it was. Got home and there wasn't any side of chili or anything. Called and spoke with them and was told that next time I come through they will resolve the issue. Looking forward to go through and try this place again. Just disappointed with there not being chili even when the guy making the hotdogs came to the window to ask questions about it. Still though the food is good and the prices are good. Just a bad experience but if it's fixed. I will give it a 5 star review. Everyone seems nice though just kind of ruined the experience. The person I spoke with on the phone was very polite and...
Read moreMy visit to Sam's Hot Dogs in Lexington, Kentucky, left me rather disappointed. The hot dogs, including the Polish sausage, failed to impress, lacking the flavor and quality I expected. Surprisingly, the absence of tomatoes, a staple for hot dogs, left me questioning the completeness of the offerings.
On a positive note, the staff was friendly, and the overall cleanliness of the establishment, including the restroom, was commendable. While I won't be returning, it's worth noting that personal preferences, especially for someone accustomed to the renowned Chicago dogs, may play a role in my disappointment. If you're curious, give it a try, but as someone with a taste for Chicago's culinary delights, Sam's Hot Dogs didn't quite hit the...
