I've been craving Sonic for a couple months now, especially a Route 44 Cherry Limeade, and there isn't one in the town I live in.
Around 11:30 this morning, I went through the drive-thru and ordered the bacon egg and cheese brioche breakfast sandwich meal with tots and a Route 44 Cherry Limeade with light ice. I also bought a corn dog for my husband. I live the next town over, and I really should have opened up the sandwich paper to check, but I didn't, and honestly, I shouldn't have to check. Anyway, I get home and open up my food and I take a bite of what I THOUGHT was the bacon egg and cheese brioche breakfast sandwich. Guess what it was instead? The garlic butter bacon cheeseburger sandwich and was full of onions. So, imagine getting your mouth set for breakfast only to be met with a massive bite of onions, garlic and hamburger. It really ticked me off. And I'm going to tell you why here in a minute because I want to talk about the Cherry Limeaide. This thing tastes like carbonated water with lime. Very little cherry in it, too. I had to pour about half a bottle of grenadine in it just so it would remotely have a cherry flavor to it. It still really doesn't, all I can taste is carbonation and lime. The tots? Perfect. Great as usual.
Now, I have to say the person who took my order and was working the window was sweet as pie, a lovely lady all around. I even looked at my receipt, and it was correct. So she got my order right. I don't know what happened in between. I don't know if someone else put the bag together or what, but the sandwich was wrong. It was terrible, and again mainly because I wasn't expecting it. I've nothing against garlic or onions because I love both, but not when you are expecting to bite into a breakfast sandwich.
I know this is a very long review, so if you have sit through it this long, I commend you. We eat out two or three times a week. I am not lying when I say this (because I counted it): the last five times we have ordered at a fast food restaurant, our order was wrong, they forgot something, or the Sprite was nothing but carbonated water. I'm talking to you McDonald's, Taco Bell, DQ on Frankfort St., and the DQ next to the Marathon in Versailles. And now, Sonic on Broadway in Lexington has been added to the list.
I think it's a sign that we should stop eating out, especially fast food, no matter how late we get off work in the evening. A bowl of cereal would be better than wasting money on food when the people who are serving it to you just can't seem to get your order right or the food tastes old or just...
Read moreWas picking up a uber eats delivery and followed the directions on the app which stated that I should press the red button, and that staff would bring me the food. Well, when I pressed the button, I was advised by a man that told me to go through the drive through instead, I questioned him because I was thrown off guard due to the app stating that someone would bring it in and told me not to go through the drive through. When I questioned him, he hung up on me. I decided to go to the drive through and while waiting at the drive thru he came through the door and handed me the food and told me "you don't know how to read?", I told him " I'm just doing what the app says". He then yelled at me and said, "if you don't wanna do your job then don't do your job" and slammed the door. At that point I pulled up to the actual drive thru window and a young female opened it and said "how can I help" at that moment the old man with white hair yelled at her and told her "don't open the window" and he came to me at the window and he threatened me by saying "I will block you from coming here" I told him " It's okay, relax, we can talk you don't need to yell I'm just here for my delivery" he said "you still wanna argue with me?" and I told him "I'm not, just relax". He then slammed the window on me, he didn't give me the opportunity to ask for his name. His other collogue (young female was looking through the drive through worried). In no way did I argue with this old man. I am always nice to seniors. I am worried for his mental state especially due to his poor temperament over an uber delivery. I'm worried for the safety of other customers and his coworkers. I wanted to ask for his name, but he didn't allow me. He is an older white haired gentleman. I believe this is all because I am Hispanic and I have a thick Spanish accent. Disappointed by the discrimination of this place. Will never return on my own accord, don't need to...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered a mobile order last night, Monday the 11th, at 8:33. The app said it would be ready by 8:38. I sat at stall #11 for so long with no response that I left it and went through the drive-through. It was 9:20 by this time. When they gave us our food it was cold and the order was wrong as far as what condiments we asked for. I never even once said anything about that. My issue was that our drinks were melted badly. I ordered four drinks, three of them were slushies. When they were handed to me, they were spilling due to being so melted. I asked that they be remade and the girl that handed them to me said “I'm sorry” and just threw her hands up. I asked to speak to the manager. He came to the window and said “ma'am you ordered ahead” because I used the app and had a mobile order. When I explained that I had been sitting at stall #11 for over 20 minutes with no response, he said “yea you can see we are really busy” and then he threw his hands up like the girl did. When I explained that this wasn't my fault and I just wanted a slushy, he told me that I was now “trespassing” and to “leave his drive-through”. He yelled at my 9-year-old daughter because she said “just give her her money back”. He refused to give me a refund because it was a mobile order & he said I had to request a refund through the app. He took pictures of my vehicle and my license plate and said he was “calling the police” because I demanded that he remake our slushies. I left the drive-through and pulled over into the parking lot. I called the police station and no calls were made. They offered to send an officer for harassment over the way the manager was behaving. I told them not to send an officer out over fast food & I left and went to the Dairy Queen beside Sonic. They were more busy but the food was good & the service was amazing. We will never go...
