My experience was terrible. I don't eat here a lot, but when I do, it's usually always good, but this experience was the worst I've experienced with Tako. First the phone wasn't working to take call-ins (I literally tried calling for 10 minutes straight) I couldn't place an online order because I was driving my vehicle and it is more convenient to talk on the phone than try to place the order online while driving. I couldn't do that. So I had to go to the restaurant out of my way. Everyone was really nice and helpful and said they just found out about the calls not going through from other customers. Okay, that's fine, I get it. I place my order, pay, and then have to leave so I can finish up what I needed to so I could come back and get the food. I come back, my food is not the way I asked it with everything ots (the person I'm eating with wouldn't be able to eat for hours, so ots is easiest to heat up so things don't sit and get soggy). I told the to-go and she said they would remake it. I had to bring my child inside with having to sit at the bar while it was remade, and I've already had a really bad day, so this makes it seem worse. Everyone was so nice and got my son some crayons. They bring it to me (the food). It is wrong again, at this point I was so mad and about to lose it, like I just wanted to leave. I told her it was still wrong, I wanted everything ots and it wasn't and that I'm sorry if I was being rude, but that was literally all I was asking for. But I literally have a fussy child with me at this point and I had to leave and couldn't wait for another remake. And then I had to ask for my sushi rolls that were not with the order when they handed it to me and they had to go get those. Like I told the lady straight up I was leaving and I didn't want to be there any longer, she apologized and was nice, and I felt bad for like literally almost crying infront of her with my child, but the experience was terrible and i wish i wouldnt have even wanted to eat there and probably never will at this location again. On top of that, I get home to eat the asparagus and it literally looks so bad, like the batter is in huge clumps on some and then barely on others and the aparagus seemed old (when it dries up when old, the skin of the asparagus keeps that nasty texture and wasnt crunchy at all). I would give 5 stars for how nice and helpful the staff was, but I give the situation a 2 stars because it was just terrible and i hate that this experience probably ruined me coming to this...
Read moreThe experience at this restaurant was almost as bad as it could get. It had an appealing menu and great atmosphere, but our party had several major issues.
Issue #1: Time. It took 15 minutes after we were seated for a server came by just to take drinks, another 40 minutes for just part of our food to arrive, and another 20 minutes for the rest of our food to arrive. There were no extra check-ins beyond the food getting delivered, and no reasons given for the long waits. For comparison, a table was seated 10 minutes after us, and had their entire meal and left before the first part of our food arrived.
Issue #2) Food quality. We didn’t have super complicated orders, we ordered chips and queso, kids shrimp and fries, four tacos with two minor substitutions (no onions on one, no mushrooms on another) and one sushi roll. The tacos were decent, but the tortilla chips were clearly fried in old oil (plus barely salted), the green chile queso had no green chiles and instead some red chile sauce on it, the kids shrimp had absolutely zero flavor, and the Susan roll was like eating a mouthful of oil.
Issue #3) Overcharging. The manager had come by and offered to comp the Susan roll because of how long the wait was, which we appreciated. But we noticed after we’d paid the bill (which we should have double-checked) and checked the receipt that the bill was for an entirely different table, and more than it would have been even without the roll being comped. When we went in to correct the issue, the staff acted annoyed that we’d even asked for the bill to be corrected.
The trifecta of mediocre to bad food, overcharging, and very bad service means we won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. There’s no way to correct this with us, as we won’t be returning for any reason. Read moreMy wife and I were looking forward to grabbing dinner together. Were seated by hostess. Ten minutes later, still waiting on our server. I ordered the chicken and shrimp Asian Stir Fry and wife ordered the Unforgettable Roll. Wife said her roll was good. My chicken and shrimp dish had no shrimp whatsoever. I informed our server who apologized and said she would get some shrimp for my dish asap. I covered my bowl with my napkin (as she didn’t offer to take it back) and waited. Twenty minutes later she brings out 5 small shrimp. They appeared to be almost burnt on one side and barely cooked on the other as if they were heavily pressed on the grill in effort to quickly cook them. Tossed them in my bowl (which now was cold). Server apologized again and stated she would be giving us a discount. Wife then ordered a glass of wine as I ate my dinner (she had already finished hers). I finished my dinner and wife was still waiting on her wine. Server brought the check when I noticed there was no discount. Brought this to her attention when she went to her manager and a discount was given. Overall, food was okay and service...
