Oooooook, so where to start, I've been here before with a sibling and it was delicious, we had drinks and our food was amazing, but today it was not like that at all, there was 3 of us and it wasn't busy. In terms of what we ordered, one got Hoppy Burger and stuck to water, another got Shrimp Fritters with Ruby Red for the drink and the last order was the Crab Cakes, Mac n' Cheese and seasonal vegetables with a Cuba libre. Let's start with the first order, the hoppy burger, this coming from the person who ate it, she said that the burger itself was very odd, because the meat had no seasoning, all she could taste was the bacon and she's not a big bacon person. Ok the second order, it wasn't seasoned, it's tasted like the shrimp, which was rubbery, was just thrown into the breading and the red sauce was supposed to make up for the lack of flavor BUT it was very over powering, so when they ate the shrimp without the sauce it had no taste, but the Ruby Red was delicious. Now to the the last order, mine, the Mac n' Cheese was great, the crab cakes started great but towards the last few bites it actually started to have a bit of an off taste and the seasonal vegetables, I'm not too sure whether they were supposed to be cooked of fresh, they looked wilted but my drinks were delicious. And to top everything we waited about 40 minutes from the moment we ordered, so there's that. OH and last little tid bit of information, so in the group, it is a darker complexion male, a Spanish female and a Caucasian female, the Spanish female would look up every so often and noticed that someone working behind the bar would look over at the table every so often to the point where the Spanish female would look up and see the female behind the bar pointing directly at our table, she was not comfortable eating here, and we will not...
Read moreAwful experience. I'm giving two stars purely for our waitress, who (bless her heart) was clearly overwhelmed by a busy Saturday brunch crowd with a glaringly obvious lack of necessary staff. Our food did not arrive for two (yes TWO) hours, one of which it wasn't even being cooked due to an issue with the printer. Our waitress was great and communicative and genuinely sorry for the trouble. All sides were additional to each dish, which is a little ridiculous considering everything we received was extremely underwhelming (and my side of sausage didn't arrive until after we had all finished our meals). Nothing we ate compensated for the wait enough to make us want to come back. There's nothing I ate today that I couldn't eat elsewhere for less, or even make on my own.
Our waitress did ask on her own if we'd like to speak to the head chef, which we did. They were kind and understanding, and did comp our meal for us (we still left a tip though), but the general quality of the food mixed with just an unfortunately awful experience that was bandaged over with excuses has written this location off for us for good.
Maybe different days and times are better, but Saturday brunch (with a mostly empty inside crowd mind you) seems to be a good...
Read moreFarm to table? What a joke. I will NEVER dine here again. There are much better places to eat in Lexington. We ordered the Burger Week burger and it came on a dry, generic, plain bun that wasn't even toasted. The meat tasted like something from Dairy Queen; definitely not ribeye, and I seriously doubt it was "local." The bacon was nothing special, and the cheese was like cheap salsa con queso from a jar. It didn't even have the roasted jalapenos. What few fries there were were cooked to death. I would much rather had broccoli or something as a side, but fries were the only thing the waitress acted like they had when I asked. The waitress asked how it was once and I told her it didn't even have everything on it. She said it did and stormed off. The waitress was quite rude and barely came around. She certainly never offered to make anything right either. I'm glad my husband decided to go around the corner for Burger Week so at least all of us didn't have to have a bad experience. Now I'm sick and just wish I would have stayed at home. Please...
