The blonde haired girl with eye piercings was so hateful and rude when we ordered and acted like she didnt want to take our order. Then the food was taking so long that our legs got tired and we sit at a table until our take out order was ready and the skinny guy with the tattoo on his left forearm was very hateful with us saying, "our dine in is closed you cant eat in here!" We knew the dine in was closed but we just sit there a few minutes cause our order was taking so long and we still had not gotten it when he said that to us so rudely. It took 20 minutes too long and we got tired standing there waiting on food that was taking forever. We had full intentions of eating in the car once we reveived our food. Of course he probably didnt know our intentions but being rude about it was completely out of line on his behalf. They screwed our order up and didnt give us everything we ordered also. This happened on this day of friday april 30th at 8:00 pm if any district or regional manager is reading this. The heaLth inspection score taped on the door was a 93% but honestly that surprises me considering how filthy the dining room area and the working area looked. Seriously there are major cleanliness issues going on here. A district and or regional manager needs to step in at this location and take care of the attitudes of some of the employees here. Retraining and especially training in customer service and courtesy is desperately needed at this location... I'll never eat here again until I know for certain that all the issues here have been fixed and that the attitudes of some employees have been changed for the positive. I'll be letting everyone I'm friends with in Lexington know of how rude we were spoken to and the rude actions. And why anyone is allowed to wear facial piercings while preparing food is beyond me cause small pieces could fall in food and hurt someone. Also noone was wearing a hair net. Seriously an upper management needs to step in here and get the managers running this place in line cause this is obviously a poor management issue. My advice is fire and rehire. Get new employees that don't hate their jobs so bad that they are rude to customers. And stop letting employees wear facial piercings that could accidently fall in food. So many issues needing addressed at...
Read moreOne either likes the food here or they don't. Sort of like a comic, you either get their sense of humor or you don't. The 'slider' at White Castle is a unique take on what a hamburger can be. It's small, has very little meat, is loaded with bits of onion and pickles. It's all sandwiched within a roll more than a bun. And the middle soaks into the surrounding bun creating a whole that can be decidedly more than the sum of its parts. It emits a string distinctive odor (which some like while others don't). Overall the product is one of a kind save for the copycat Krystal franchise that tries to duplicate the duplicate the formula.
The food itself is high quality enough. Meaning, if you like what they offer, you'll probably be satisfied with the quality of the offering itself. The decor of the restaurants are unique (I know of no other with literally a white castle motif), and it's frankly pretty inexpensive when you consider how cheaply you can get a basic meal for here. As long as you don't start adding up a bunch of extras on the burgers, the price each is very reasonable. You will, most likely, be eating more than one. Maybe even more than five depending on your appetite.
Probably the biggest negative (if you can call it one) is that the menu almost entirely consists of carbohydrates. This explains why the cost is so low (since carbs provide such a cheap form of fuel for the body). But no one considers a diet heavy in carbohydrates to be healthy long term. So, as addictive as sliders can be for certain folks, it's probably best to maintain self control and limit your intake to infrequent...
Read moreI am a lifelong fan of White Castle hamburgers. Yeah they're overly soft for some people's taste, but they are supposed to be. That softness is by design. Their new Sloppy Joe's were soft sandwiches too, but to a fault. They have the mouth feel of a Crystals hamburger. We've all bought those frozen or refrigerated vending machine hamburgers out of desperation when there's nothing else to choose from. Microwave hamburger buns tend to become overly soft and almost chewy, giving you a weird mouth feel when you chew them. People don't like that. White Castle Sloppy Joe sliders taste like they came out of a refrigerator already prepared, and they stuck them in a microwave or some other type of industrial oven designed to cook things like that. I didn't want cheese on mine, but they told me that that is the way they came. Woop there it is! That microwave! They were overly sweet, and White Castle needs to change their Sloppy Joe recipe or quit buying it by the can. It has that food factory taste like it's straight out of a can. If it's not from a can why does it taste like it's from out if a can? They're not awful. I just can't stand their Sloppy Joe's chewy microwave sandwich mouth feel and overly sweet taste. Kids might love them. The corn nibblers were delicious! First time trying them. I should have ordered the Corn Nibblers Combo. Or a large order of just...
