Before I begin my review allow me to say that I was in no way offered any specials, freebies, or compensation for this review.
This was my first visit to Golden Corral ever. And I must say without a doubt good show. Staff was very friendly very forthcoming with any and all questions I had. Very prompt to refill glasses go out of their way to make your experience at their establishment as comfortable and welcoming as they possibly can.
The food those of you that have been there need not be told anything about this. For those of you that have not been to Golden Corral I suggest you drop whatever you're doing get out of this ever is ending cycle of same old same old blah blah food and make your way down here you will not be disappointed I assure you this check out the photos I've included. There is food here that in my opinion as a foodie will curb any and all appetites that come its way sensationally prepared and fresh as soon as something runs out there out there to put fresh whatever back in its place I recommend the smoked chicken, the meatloaf, lemon meringue pie, pulled pork and my personal favorite the soft serve ice cream and chocolate fountain. the kid in me wanted to spend all day in the desert section but I needed to do a proper review of everything.
The managers of this place are out there testing a food answering questions greeting customers as they come in as they leave and as they are sitting down enjoying their meals. To make sure that your visit with them is spot-on and to make you repeat customers. Also for those of you that have family members that have birthdays and we all do they have a specials for birthday visitors.
How can I forget the steak the steak from what I was told by management is marinated for several days to ensure proper saturation of flavor this stuff is so juicy, let me say that again juiciness in the steak mouth watering the stuff is oh my God good. The smoked chicken not overly greasy and the meat falls off of the bone I mean little effort was taken and eating this it was perfect.
I wish I had gotten the names of the workers that I saw diligently running back and forth busy as bees but there were so many of them to choose from The Young miss that was at my table. Melissa was on her feet constantly vacuuming the floors cleaning up messes bussing tables asking people if they needed assistance with anything refilling their glasses singing happy birthday to some buddy that was there. My hat's off to you Bravo.
But I must say the inside the core of the restaurant was very pleasing not overly crowded not a lot of mess I didn't see any mess actually that wasn't intended to immediately. You don't even have to clean off your table when you're done eating leave your plates there they will be around to get them off immediately. Impressed overly impressed.
I did have one suggestion that I brought up to the manager the ice cream section of the desert line has bowls they bring out that are hot out of the washer, I did suggest that they find a way to hook a chiller up to them have cold will have them sitting on cold water lines to chill them down because when you're putting ice cream in it or the soft serve it tends to melt pretty quick before you get back to the table. She told me that she would bring this up at their next manager's meeting that it was a good suggestion and I hope that they do something to rectify this.
Other than these tiny things I enjoyed my stay at Golden Corral today and it will make me a repeat customer it's his within biking distance of where I live I should be able to get there in about 25 minutes on bicycle. Which for me is a big plus I didn't see any bike racks outside but I will find a way to chain up my ride I may suggest then putting a couple bike racks outside their establishment to draw in those of us that commute with bicycle primarily.
Good job Golden Corral family you have impressed me. I look forward to updates...
Read moreI decide to take my kids out to eat and my youngest daughter asks if their mom can join. Me and their mom are not together and the girls live with me. I normally go to Golden Corral in Winchester and have a great dining experience as do my girls. So seeing as their mom lives in Lexington we decide to go to the one there. First glance as I enter it's clean and appears much smaller than the one I'm used to. I still see the familiar buffet bars I'm used to so I'm sold. Checking out was a great experience and overall the staff I dealt with where amazing. My issues lies in food availability it appeared things where being restocked at a very slow level. Nearly all the meats on the bar that I personally would want are empty. So I decide well I'll do the taco bar until they are filled. Low and behold there is a taco bar but where is the taco meat? Not even a place for it. So I decide to get my normal sides and some random type of mystery meat which appeared to be pork. I figure by the time I'm done with this plate maybe there will be some pot roast or some meat loaf as both where wiped upon arrival. So we finish out plates the kids and their mom hit the salad bar and desert but my main purpose for visiting this place is for the meatloaf or the pot roast. The meatloaf is still empty but there is hope I see meat in the pot roast pan. As I approach and grab the spoon I can tell immediately something is not right about this pot roast. First thing that is off as I push the spoon into the meat it doesn't just fall apart like pit roast does instead it I guess you could say splits so I'm like ok so it's kinda tough. I pick some up with the spoon and realized this is the thinnest lot roast I've ever seen. It almost looks as if it had been placed in a dehydrator and then cooked. So I decide not to tempt it. I see some Salisbury steaks so I grab a couple of those and make my way back to my seat. Where I find my youngest is complaining to her mom about the fruit selection at this particular location. No watermelon no pineapple things we find at our normal golden corral. Long story short food availability was very limited, staff was great and is the only reason I gave two stars, not long after leaving I became sick and spent most of the evening on the toilet. I will never go back to this location again and will stick to my hometown...
Read moreCuriosity killed the cat. The streamers on the outside of the building and the big sign that says OPEN OPEN got our attention, my guess a grand reopening. We walk in and are greeted with a sign that says mask required ok thats the usual we are masked up. Initially there is no one to take our money we wait a minute and one of the line cooks comes over to greet us and take our money..she notices my partner is a veteran and gives us a discount and points out the various sanitation stations all over the resturant..Shes very friendly. We walk to our table and are greeted by our server Patti, shes efficient and friendly she tells us how to navigate the buffet. She gives us extra silverware and tells us the resturant is no longer self serve. She says we will be served our choice of food from the buffet. We walk over to get some food and the same woman who took our money and who is also a line cook served us our choices.. The cooks are also the food servers. We sit down and remove our mask to eat. The food was mediocre but most of it was cold. I decided to get another plate because i can see FRIED FISH😊 is on the buffet. I wait for my partner to get up and we go for second plate... All of a sudden I am startled by the man at the entrance working the cashier station hollaring some gibberish.. I thought someone had ran out without paying or something so I look over and hes still hollaring some gibberish about 50$ fine.. I assume he's a manager because he's middle aged and the only employee without a name tag....and apparently hes hollaring at me clear across the resturant.. I pulled my mask up and go to the ladies room because he had scared the syte out of me. When i walk in to the bathroom there is what looks like dark water all over the bathroom floor and every stall is dirty and stinky.. I turn around to wash my hands and leave but there is no paper towel to open the door.. After that I'm ready to go.. We tip our great waitress and go home and make our own fried fish.. P.s. golden corral mask wont help the pool of covid in your...
