This was our first visit to Willie Jewell's. I've heard good things and wanted to try them for awhile. First of all they seemed overwhelmed and under staffed. They are hiring. We went in to order, everyone choosing what they wanted then I ordered for my husband. Making it perfectly clear that the burger was to have lettuce and tomato only and make sure there is no cheese he doesn't eat cheese. She even added that on the order. That picture is NOT what I ordered. That's all the way WITH CHEESE!! So he couldn't eat it and I had to give him my pulled pork and eat his burger. Now the burger was good, the fried pickles were worth going back for and my daughters liked what they got except the collards were a little spicy. All in all the food is 4 stars. One other issue we had relating back to the take out. They gave us our order and when we got to the car realized it wasn't our order. I went back in and the young man knew it as soon as I walked in. They hadn't even finished making our meals yet. And the female cook in the back seem frazzled like she couldn't get the orders right. They just seemed overwhelmed with the additional online orders mixed in with the people standing there waiting for their food. I waited another 10 minutes for our order to be complete (and my husband's wrong). Will I go back? Probably if only for the fried pickles.

My fiancé and I came here after trying to find a different bbq restaurant we haven’t tried yet and Willie Jewel’s did not disappoint, I ordered the two meat combo with two sides and corn bread. The brisket was tender with a nice flavor and the ribs were fall off the bone. The onion rings were fresh and delicious and the corn bread was cake like, and absolutely delicious. They have a bbq sauce station with four types of bbq and also a secret sauce. We tried all of them and they all tasted good, we both had different favorites. The service was great, I love the concept of ordering at the counter, the food was brought out quickly after and the drinks were self serve. It was less movement due to not having servers which was nice. The girls were attentive to whatever we did need such as to go plates and extra silverware and they were very pleasant. We will definitely be back. We enjoyed every minute our time at Willie Jewel’s and the decor was nice and fitting to the food theme.

I've only had food from here twice, and never been inside the physical location. The first time I only sampled a friend's brisket, and it was great. The second time was on August 16th, where it was delivered to a meeting I attended. I'm not sure if the restaurant delivered, or if it was delivered by a delivery service, but the guy walked into a million dollar lake house and left the door open behind him. Might not be a huge deal if it was August in SC heat, but....The food had a great smokey flavor, but the brisket was rather tough and dry. The chicken and ribs were pretty good, though. Maybe this was because of the time it took to deliver the food, or maybe because it just wasn't smoked probably? 🤷‍♂️

First of all this is for grudge holding owner Jeffery. I have to say that I was extremely appalled at your rudeness tonight and I guess that you truly do hold grudges man. First of all for to come out and talk your little jibber jabber when you have customers is very unprofessional for one and second of you have a problem with alittle joke your in the wrong business. I will single handily bring you down to a 1 star better business rating if you want to go that route. I will tell all my friends and family what a true person you truly are. You might want to take that now hiring sign down since you can't keep any employees because of the way you treat them. Secondly Damien said hello by the way. Lol. Third lets tell everyone who the real Jeffery is and that's someone who lies and who refuses to pay there employees but yet I come in there to eat as a paying customer cause I love the food and you want to get Lippy. Well Jeffery lets next time don't do it in front of customers on a Friday night and go outside and lets see what happens but we all know who you truly are Jeffery. You ain't gonna do anything but come in the dining room talk a bunch of bs and then go hide in the kitchen when I say something but next time I'll be sure to really get loud and expose you for who you are or better yet im gonna poach all your employees and you won't have to worry about one person calling out like you did tonight and you can figure out how to run your business by your self Jeffery. On top if it all this was the worst meal I've had with you Jeffery but now on ill drive my happy self to Augusta because unlike you Damien and his wife actually treat there customers with respect regardless if the business dealings didn't go the way you wanted them to go. You could of paid me my money instead of me having to force the corporate office to force you to pay me. I don't work for free but hey chic fila next door to you pays 13 a hour and the last time I checked 4 of your employees work there after leaving you. Dig deep in them pockets this holiday season buddy cause your gonna need it soon enough Jeffery. Have a very merry flipping Christmas Jeffery and well be in touch, trust me buddy, but in the mean time good luck finding good help and one last thing you'll never sell more then me or be better then me and you think you are lets handle it and let Lexington be the judge of that one Jeffery. Merry Christmas...

The brisket was decent. The ribs, really good. One server was very helpful and I know he felt horribly about spilling food on me, and a broom falling on me.

Our food ticket got lost. We waited and waited...asked...they lost our ticket. Many people that ordered after us had gotten their food.

The majority of my party got pulled pork. The mustard gold sauce is horrible. The hickory....meh. The sweet is good but gets to be too much sweet too quickly. I didn't like the grape juice lemonade. But the tea was good. Coke products however I'm a pepsi fan.

For our wait we were offered free dessert. We chose bread pudding, which I had to spit out and banana pudding. This place may do well in a place other than SC, but here we do two things well....pulled pork and banana pudding. Had I paid for the pudding I would be livid. An utter disgrace to anyone that has ever eaten the stuff. It was gross.

So...the pulled pork. Well...no one at our table at it. Cold. Bland. Just...nasty. Bad flavor. No flavor. I can't describe it. We made it known and they seen no one touched it. I brought mine home to the dogs along with rib bones. I was shocked they didn't try to make it up somehow or send a manager over.

If I got nothing but ribs I may be okay. The chances of my return are slim. Waste of $60. An expensive meal for the dogs and trash can.

We also had mac & cheese. It is not real. Gross slimy stuff using fake ingredients and not made in the oven. Just a soupy mess.

Hash & Rice....look I would be embarrassed to live in the South and have to serve this. Was some chopped up "barbecue" on top of a pile of mushy overcooked slime rice.

I give two stars because the two emoloyees I had encounters with did seem genuinely apologetic and they had a great attitude. Yes, they should have gotten a manager in my opinion. I don't know what, if anything, it...

The service is incredible the atmosphere was too. The food was cooked beautifully. However, this can’t be a black own restaurant or founded by blacks. I refuse to believe this because the food is bland. The seasoning isn’t there at all. I am highly disappointed because I paid $33 for my food and to have to season it up on my own at home is wild . Maybe it’s ok for elderly people because they tastebuds starts to go away as they get older. For younger people and aunti age , ummm no. Please don’t say you will remake the food like I see on other reviews. It is pointless because you cook things as a whole, so there’s no way you can remake the food . Chicken no seasoning, the turkey not even smoke just deli piece of meat . The Mac and cheese is awful, not baked nor homemade just noodles and a chees sauce. Chick-fil-A Mac and cheese will out be then any day and that says a whole lot. The black eye peas but should be seasoned better . Maybe through some turkey bacon or turkey neck. Or make two different kinds, with smoke turkey and the other with pork. The cornbread isn’t sweet and very dry. The fried Okra is in fact really good . The banana pudding it’s is ok but could be better. Maybe there should be new concept or something because black people seasons their food . Not just black but down south period . Very disappointed. I was told to try Hudson because they season their food . So I will. However, the staff was very nice . Sorry had to give this review and hopefully y’all can...
