We immediately felt good when we walked into the Liberty Tavern. The atmosphere was not too loud and we could enjoy watching the many TV's without it being overwhelming. It was a Thursday night and with most of the tables taken we were happy to find one without sitting at the bar, even though the bar looked like a decent place to sit. After putting in our order for "fish and chips" and the "CFS with onion rings/mashed potatoes " we waited. We talked and waited...And waited... And waited. There didn't seem to be too many people there but our waitress explained that a bunch of Uber orders came in and there was a delay. We weren't in a hurry but I was "uber" hungry but we waited and waited patiently. Now here's where the night was saved! Our server brought us out complimentary chips and queso for our wait! Very thoughtful! (Side note: We've had much better queso and unfortunately this didn't make our Top 20) She apologized profusely and later brought us out a small dish of their "chicken and dumplings" and "vegetable beef" soups! Both were delicious and hearty! If I had to choose between the two I'd get the chicken and dumplings. Yum!! Onto the main course, even though we are now pretty full! My husband is a snob when it comes to CFS. I mean super super picky. We will go to a place just to try the CFS. Surprise of all surprises..He has rated this the best he's tasted in this area! Seasoning, portion, tender meat and crispy crust..all done very well! Gravy was a good amount, creamy, seasoned well and not too thin.. just right! My fish and chips were extra crispy and very very tasty. The inside of the fish was flaky and with the malt and tarter sauce it was over the top! We both could only eat less than half as there was a huge portion of both meals. (And we'd eaten 2 courses before!) Overall we will be back as we felt it was a good experience and we'd like to go when it's warmer to sit outside... especially on Wednesday where it's BOGO Burgers! You betcha!

Not bad, basic. Small portions. Went to breakfast on the first day they offered to serve it. Nothing fancy. Port basic breakfast. $80 for breakfast for 4. Service was slow. We had all completely been finished eating for 15 minutes before we were asked is we wanted the check. Something was screwy with the payment. I gave the server $80 in “20’s”. She asked if i wanted change. As the bill was $76 (?) , I said yes, bring me the change and a receipt (I planned on giving a &10 tip). That was met with a smidgen of attitude. The server finally returned, she brought back 3-$20’s, 3-$5’s and 5 -$1’s and put them on the table. It was strange. The server was flustered by the cash payment and repeatedly said sorry. I assured her it was alright. She then stated that she pays for all of her tables at the end of her shift. I then had to recount the money and give her $75. The receipt I received was not a receipt for payment. It did not show what i paid. Also, if you tell you have maple syrup and then give me HFCS, I know the difference. Just say pancake syrup and not maple. It was happenstance that we went there. I returned a horse trailer that morning and made a wrong turn. Not going back. Mainly because it is also a alcoholic full bar. Parking was not great

Minor fault to the waitress but MAJOR fault to the CHEF. First, I noticed a couple seated to our right got up and left as they never receive their food. Personally, I was a “tad” worried but our waitress took our order right away; however, our when we revived our food, it was not what we ordered. My sons cheeseburger was like warm and without cheese and a “sprinkle” of fries. My wife received the wrong salad without dressing. We told the our waitress and she said “I thought this looked wrong” (which is why I say it’s a “minor fault” to the waitress) and she said she’d get it fixed. Seven minutes later… we took the salad back to the bar and ask for the correct one and inquired if my son’s cheeseburger would be delivered. 9 minutes later, we got a salad (still the wrong salad because the CHEF USED MOST OF THE CONTENTS FROM THE ONE I RETURNED) and I ended up giving my son my pork sandwich. Liberty Tavern has potential, the cosmetics were amazing, and staff appeared to be energetic, but that is all ruined when a CHEF doesn’t know and understand his menu and has the audacity to repurpose the contents of a returned salad.

I'm incredibly disappointed with this restaurant. We've been regulars for a couple of years and spend way more money here than we should (around $120 on Sundays and $100 on Wednesdays....that's over $800 per month) because we want to support local, but tonight was the last time we'll dine here.

I started following them on Facebook recently and they sent me an instant message with a buy one entrée get one free coupon...awesome right? Well, I went like we do every Wednesday night and told the waitress about the coupon before we even ordered a glass of water, keep in mind we've never used a coupon here before. No problem. We went ahead and ordered. They had a sign that they have bogo burgers on Wednesdays, so sure why not. We went ahead and ordered that too. My husband gets off late so I ordered it to go.

We arrived around 5:15ish. My kids got their food about an hour AFTER we ordered it and then finally my food came out an hour and half after I ordered it...no joke. We didn't get our check until around 7pm.

When the waitress came to our table to present the check she said the manager (Joe) would not honor it because they don't stack coupons. I only had one coupon and the only coupon I've ever tried to use here, plus..I told them way before we ordered anything. There was no signage stating you can't order the burgers to go and the waitstaff didn't even know that. That would have been no problem whatsoever had they said something when I was ordering. The manager didn't even have the decency to come to our table and apologize for any miscommunication and try to make it right.

I asked to speak with the manager and when he came to our table I explained I only had one coupon and was not aware they wouldn't also honor their daily special with it and he was incredibly rude. I told him I had to wait an hour and half for my food and he just smirked and treated us poorly as if I were lying. In the end the manager did honor the coupon, but this is not about a coupon or money at all. This entire review is about treating customers with respect and just overall decent customer service...which shouldn't be hard.

I'll never dine here again. Word of mouth can kill a local business in a small town. Treat your...

Tons of staff yet zero service.

Food is good, the joy stops there. I swear I must have invoked a curse.

Arrived, went to play area. Sign says "go inside for service ". I go inside to the bar, tell them I'm outside by food truck. They give me a menu and say go outside, they'll come to me. Perfect. I sit outside for 10 minutes. I then go up to a waitress who says "oh we don't serve food there" and points to the sign. I say "I did go inside, they told me to go outside" ok, miscommunication and vague sign. I'd recommend "no food service here, go inside to ORDER or go to food area by building" No biggie, I'll avoid next time.

The waitress I found then says she'll send someone out rather than help me, but maybe she's busy, ok. I go sit in the food area. They have 3 waitresses serving a total of 3 tables, including mine. The only thing is somehow 3 waitresses hit the only other 2 tables all around me and kept walking away until one of the other tables asked if they'd help me.

Once I do get my food, it's SWARMED by flies. I eat outdoors at a lot of patio restaurants. This place must sit on swampland it's so BAD. The waitstaff reseated multiple tables indoor during my time there. The door thresh hold going from outside has a tall lip, and 2 people tripped in 30 minutes. One was a little kid who landed on his face.

On top of that, they missed a whole part of our order and put onion on the food I requested be removed.

It's sad the food is good because the service stinks. Update your signage, remediate the pests, improve your flow so you know when you have menus out unserviced, and don't act as if your customer shouldn't be annoyed when they come to your place only to be ignored for a total of 20 minutes.

On their own, none of these things are noteworthy. Every restaurant has hiccups here and there. But combined I can only wonder what front of house and ownership are doing, I feel bad for the waiters. If this places goes out of business it won't be because of the food.

I swear I'm not a Karen, but my god, this place sure makes you feel like one. What a wonderful waste of time and money on a beautiful Sunday. I wouldn't go back if...

Our experience was horrible from the get go. Our group of six arrived shortly after 5 PM. There were only six other people in the restaurant, but it took about 10 minutes to take our drink order and maybe 10 more to take our food order. They were out of rice and another side item my friend tried to order. We waited at least another half hour for our food to arrive. The food all came out at different times. We had to ask for food items they forgot. They sat down the wrong salad in front of my granddaughter. The waitress argued with my daughter about it not being the right one, saying she put it in correctly. She came back and said, "Oh, I'm sorry, that salad wasn't even meant for you." My other granddaughter's kid's burger was raw. My daughter asked to have it cooked more. They took the plate with the fries. It was at least 15 or 20 minutes later that it came back. By this time, we were almost done with our meal. My granddaughter said her burger tasted burnt and her top bun was burned. I asked several servers/waitstaff walking by if I could just get a top bun. It didn't have to be toasted. By this time, everyone is done eating except me (a very slow eater at salad). I finally get up and go to the door to the kitchen and yelled to who I guess was the chef: "Could I please get a top bun?" He screamed at me to "Get out of my kitchen!", twice. I wasn't even in the kitchen. My granddaughter's bun finally arrives a few minutes later, toasted, but she was so upset at the entire situation that she couldn't eat it. I asked the waitress if she could please take it off my bill and she said she'd have to check with the manager. It would have been nice for the manager to come over, but they did take it off my bill. Only needing two bills, the waitress had to ask each of us what we had ordered. I will say, the food that came out correctly was good, but it put a damper on our evening out with friends to look at Christmas lights. We will...
