Iāve been coming to Mojoās for four years, always ordering the same drink. Iāve stuck with them through a lot, but at this point, Iām just tired.
Most recently, I got a drink that tasted stale ā again. This isnāt the first time itās happened. They say, āIf thereās ever a problem, weāll remake it,ā but in practice, it doesnāt feel that simple. Every time I ask for a remake, Iām met with immediate attitude ā tight facial expressions, cold body language, like Iāve just ruined their day. I can see it. Itās not subtle. This time, instead of going through that again, I declined the remake and just asked for my money back. I was done.
And lately, thatās been the trend: the drinks just arenāt consistent anymore ā and trying to fix the issue only makes the experience more uncomfortable.
About three years ago, I dealt with a completely different issue ā the staff.
One time, I was in the drive-thru line and watched a barista look directly at my car, then skip me and take the order of the person behind me. When I drove forward to the window, it wasnāt even the same barista ā it was a different one, and she looked furious when she saw me. The whole interaction felt tense and hostile, and I hadnāt even done anything. I also handed her a fully stamped loyalty card ā maybe one stamp wasnāt perfect, but it was clearly finished. She refused it and asked me, āDo you even have a job?ā
Around that same time, a different staff member walked up to my car while I was in the drive-thru line. She was stoned. She said something was dragging from the front of my car, then bent over in front of my driver-side window. Because my car sits low, she was directly in my line of sight. I wasnāt trying to look at her ā I just stared forward like anyone would while driving, and she was right there. After standing up, she started to flirt with me a little and then asked if I wanted to go to a Luke Combs concert with her. The whole thing felt awkward and unprofessional. I told the barista at the window ā again, someone else ā and she said nothing. Just stared at me and rang me up like it didnāt matter.
That time period is what made me stop going to Mojoās altogether. I took a break for about a year ā not because of the drinks, but because of the way I was treated.
When I returned last year, the rude behavior was gone. The staff seemed fine ā polite, normal, no issues. But now the drinks have become the problem. Theyāre hit or miss. Sometimes theyāre fine, sometimes they taste off or stale. And when it happens, itās met with indifference or quiet irritation.
There was also a time ā back during that earlier period ā when I had to hand over a temporary bank card. The barista manually entered everything ā number, ZIP, expiration, even the PIN. Not long after, my card info was stolen and used nearby. I canāt prove it came from here, but that was the only time I handed over my full card info like that.
Iām not angry. Iām just disappointed. Years of loyalty, and it feels like it doesnāt matter. The drinks have gotten worse, and the care just isnāt there ā not in the cup, and not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA local favorite that truly cares about community! This coffee shop is such a staple in the area that was locally born in Burnet, TX, community-driven, and always staffed by the friendliest team. They do a great job employing and uplifting local folks, and it shows in the energy and service every time I visit.
I stop by often for my go-to: an Iced Skinny Giddy Up with whatever seasonal cold foam they're featuring or sometimes a frozen espresso. Their menu is diverse, with options ranging from coffee and smoothies to energy drinks. While they donāt offer a full cafĆ©-style menu, they do have a few snacks options to tide you over and honestly, thatās never stopped us from swinging by multiple times a month.
The loyalty stamp card is a fun bonus, and I love keeping up with their seasonal offerings on social media.
Pro tip for first-timers: they have a unique coffee drive-thru setup with two lanes that merge into one just be mindful of whoās next. The baristas often come out to take your order before you reach the window, which helps speed things along. Itās super helpful to check out the menu...

I love their iced lattes and various seasonal cold foams, my husband is a big fan of the energy drinks, and our kids love their frosts and hot chocolates. Truly something for everyone!
Also, I really appreciate the simplicity of their loyalty program. No apps to update, no reloading money, no tracking stars or pointsājust a good old-fashioned stamp card. 10 drinks, the 11th is free....
