I never write reviews but this place was so bad I in good conscience had to write something.
The menu is extremely small which isn't necessarily a bad thing if there is a decent selection which there is not. My wife got the veggie burger and I got the premium smashburger. Both of them were complete slop. I don't think my burger actually had a meat patty. Seriously. I felt awkward sending it back because it kind of did. But if you can see through the meat patty because it is so thin you know there is not much meat there. The burger had a "cheese skirt" which was really just this huge piece of crunchy melted cheese. I don't know where the ham was. The bun wasn't a fancy brioche bun or anything necessarily nice. It was just a hamburger bun you would get from Costco. Soggy. Not toasted. Then everything was just slopped together. My wife's veggie burger was the same. We had to use forks because there was physically no way to pick up the burger. It all just fell apart.
You have to pay for fries in addition to your $12 burger?! 50 cents for a sauce like mayonnaise?! I can only think of a few places that charge you for fries when you order a burger or sandwich. And you know what, none of them lasted more than 2-3 years. This is a proven business model that will lead to any restaurant's demise. Ask yourself this question: Can you think of a restaurant that has been around for a long time where if you order burger or sandwich you have to pay extra for fries?
Drinks: I asked for a flight of mead and they didn't do flights which I find kind of interesting since they make mead and most breweries and places like this would offer a flight where you could in sample all that the establishment has to offer. They have four beers to choose from. All of them heavier beers like stouts etc. I got a lager that was just plain old not good. I sampled two ciders and they just tasted like lemonade or an ice tea. My wife got mead that she felt like it was just an overpriced La Croix sparkling water.
The atmosphere wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. It was your pretty standard industrial brewer feel. It has outside seating which is nice but certainly not anything that makes it shout "This place is awesome."
We live 1.4 miles away and could ride our bikes to this place. That makes it a high potential for a magical local spot. My wife and I flatly said that we do not plan on going...
Read moreMy wife, daughter and I attended Emry’s this past Friday and met up with some friends. This was our first time visiting.
I debated leaving a review over the past two days since I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I thought this one was necessary.
We arrived around 6pm Friday night. Overall, the appearance of the establishment looked very nice. They had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating plus a nice green space for kids to run around and play.
We sat outside on a picnic table. My wife and I were one side (I was holding our 15 month old daughter) and two of our friends were on the other side. About two minutes after they got up to get another drink, our picnic table tipped backwards sending beer and menus flying. Luckily, I was able to catch myself and keep our daughter safe while my wife stumbled toward the railing. We were covered with beer.
This completely ruined it for me. How could a picnic table completely tip over? I was pretty fired up but decided not to make a scene (not any of the employees noticed a thing which I found kind of odd).
When we went to place our food order, I asked the lady taking my order if that happens frequently. She said never and said she would check out the table at the end of the night. She did pour us new beers for free since ours spilled all over us. We proceeded to order. My wife asked the server her thoughts on the chicken sandwich and she said it was good.
When our food arrived, they gave my wife a wrap instead of a chicken sandwich. Something we found interesting because we had a conversation about the sandwich before ordering.
We thought the beer was good. I got the Wellington and my wife did an IPA. My smash burger was delicious although all food items are a la carte. So no fries to go along with the burger.
Overall price was comparable to other breweries in the area. Food and beer were fine too. However, the unsafe table and the mistake on our food order really left a bad taste in my mouth.
2 stars - If I go back and have a better experience, I will probably amend this review.
Just please use caution while sitting at their...
Read moreMy husband and I were very excited to try Emry’s during restaurant week. We work opposite schedules and we had one night to try one restaurant. Unfortunately, we decided on Emry’s. Online, on their answering machine, and printed in the Inlander, it was posted that they serve the restaurant week menu until 8pm. Both my husband and I work until 7pm typically, but we both got off early to quickly pick up our children and make a mad dash- 50 min drive from our home- out to Liberty Lake to get there by 7:30pm. I tried to call the restaurant and see if it was ok that we were arriving 30 min before close, however you are not able to speak to a live person on the phone. When we arrived, at Emry’s, The open sign was on, 4-5 workers were all standing around talking and a female worker looked visibly annoyed, so I had to ask if they were open and she said no they closed for the night. No apologies, no explanation, nothing. The fact that they had to close early during restaurant week makes me think that maybe they aren’t as good as they sound. But we will never know. Do yourself a favor and go to True Lengends Bar and Grill. 0.4 miles away, they aren’t what we would have picked for restaurant week honestly, (we had a whole list we wanted to try but wasted our time/night on Emrys.) True Legends was a pleasant surprise, scratch made sauces/dressings, amazing chowder, I still was able to get a burger. Also the patrons/liberty lake locals are awesome! When I explained to them that Emry’s wouldn’t let us eat there after we made special arrangements, they bought us a round of...
