Update for Aug 2023: I love this place! I come to town about once a year, and this is my go-to coffee and tea shop. (They use Revival Tea, if you're wondering). I don't know if it's new or if I just missed it last time, but their oatmeal is delightful, too. McKayla and Malik have both moved to the Kendell Yards location, but Morgan, the new manager, has made the transition unnoticeable. No notes, I look forward to coming back next year!
Nov 2022: So far, I have been here three days in a row, and I have had an enjoyable experience each time. McKayla and Malik (sorry if I misspelled those) are fantastic baristas, emphasizing both customer service and drink quality. I've had several shots of espresso, multiple cappuccinos, and many black coffees so far, and they've all been delicious. I also had one of their toffee cookies, and those should be illegal they're so good. If you're looking for something a little more filling, try one of the many flavors of locally made handpies they serve; you won't be disappointed.
The shop itself is very light, airy, and open, with lots of space both downstairs and up. The music is never too loud or noisome; I imagine this would be a great place to do some work on a laptop. They even have a conference room upstairs available to rent! If you're in the area, I would recommend stopping by and trying this place out.
Edit: To address the low rated review about their prices, I live out of state and pay about twice what this shop charges for every item, so I'm ecstatic about the prices here. Also, not to belabor the point, and do with this point what you will, but if every person that touched your coffee before it reached you was paid a fair and liveable wage, not including basic benefits like healthcare, coffee was be so expensive that only Jeff Bezos would be able to drink it. Good coffee is...
Read moreStopped by here on a whim and was very surprised! The barista, whose name I forgot, was awesome! It was about 130 degrees out, or at least felt like it, so we weren't in a coffee mood so we opted for iced tea. My wife had a few questions on tea blends and she let her smell the tea and went over what was in it.
I ordered the campfire blend and she laughed and asked if I wanted to smell it. I didn't but should have (she tried to warn me!). She set proper expectations on wait time while it brewed and when the teas were up she enthusiasticly waited for me to try mine. You ever sit by a camp fire and you just reek of smoke and then take a drink or water or tea? And the beverage just kinda tastes like smoke? Well that's literally what this tasted like BUT it was actually really good in a weird way. Nothing a few extra sweeteners and some honey couldn't fix! And, again, she did try to warn me.
I did forget her name, but if whoever reads these asks around for the barista that gave the dummy an iced campfire blend tea she'll know. And let her know she did an...
Read moreFor some time now, New Love has been my go-to coffee destination. As a hub for coffee enthusiasts, Washington has numerous exceptional coffee shops, but New Love stands out for its unparalleled quality. The atmosphere in their coffee shops is uniquely inviting, and the service is consistently excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. My personal favorite drink is the blackberry matcha, which I highly recommend. Additionally, their hand pies offer a diverse range of flavors and a fascinating concept. What truly sets New Love apart, however, is its commitment to the community, demonstrated through its generous offers of deals and gift cards. In my opinion, New Love is unequivocally the best coffee shop...
