Jib Jab Hot Dog Shoppe — Restaurant in Liberty Township

I had to do a one in order to make a review but actually it was not even a one the last 3 times we have been there it's just so nasty food service and dirty place the first time we had a fly and a hair in our food and we had to pay for that and the kids didn't even get to eat.Then the next time the food was so horrible and nasty and cold and we didn't even get what we had ordered and then this past Sunday really took the cake we had specifically asked for 3 plates because we had 3 people and different orders and the kids don't eat onion and the girl waiting on us was so horrible and rude to us and I asked for a coffee with cream and sugar because there was no sugar on the table only two packs of sweet and low if id had a sugar problem then those would have been ok to use the coffee was very cold and it took her forever to bring me a cup then I asked her for a different plate for my food and she said they didn't have any extra ones clearly it's a restaurant that should have plates and stuff to use for eating and then I had asked for onions and my daughter don't eat onion and she brought us a plate with the hot dogs sauce and cheese only and I said ok which one is onions and she grabbed it and said I don't know and took it back and pushed my grandsons plate at me and I said it was not what I ordered then she rolled her eyes at me and I said I wanted my hot dogs on a different plate because my daughter doesn't eat it like that she still brought it back all on the same plate and I was watching her and them behind the kitchen window and the kid back in the kitchen kept saying is there a problem I said yes I want mine on a different plate I clearly was watching them to make sure they didn't do anything stupid with our food but again they brought it back on the same plate and I think they were very rude about it two people trying to eat off the same plate we asked her for a to go box she threw it at my grandson very unprofessional service and rude and the kids were drying the table so we could sit down because they had it soping wet and I believe they way over charged us for the food all three times it was over 40$s for a family frie with cheese and sauce and two hot dogs sauce and two hot dogs sauce and cheese and two hot dogs sauce and onions and ice cold coffee every time we come back to Ohio from Indiana and Kentucky we were excited to visit the hot dog shop but the last 3 times we have been there it's just been worse and worse and not to mention I got very sick after leaving and I was trying to get in the car and I was vomiting I don't know why they changed everything for the food but I can definitely say that it was our last time ever going back and the girl who checked us out said did we want to leave a tip and we clearly said no if she would have been the one who was waiting on us then we would have left her a tip because she was the only one who treated us decent and that's very sad for the service we had but upon leaving checking out she was better the food was nasty the sauce wasn't the same it was gross we definitely won't be back when we go to Ohio we will get some place else to eat no one was in a uniform and least to say I told my daughter about how they look and I felt we were going to get bad service and they sure did that if they can't serve on different plates for different orders you guys need to order more dishes for the price you guys charged us for the last 3 times we were there surely they can get more dishes sad very sad my grandson just asked for a to go box for the fries and then he didn't even want it after her rudeness I honestly know if the old manager was there this place would not be like it is and they would have a uniform and a hair cover and the food...

If your ideal evening involves dirty tables with screaming children, then this is the place for you. We had high hopes for Jib Jab, but it ultimately ended with a disappointment. When we walked in, it appeared to be pretty crowded, but not really sure why. Maybe it was a cheap quick stop or maybe it’s because of it being one of the few places to eat close enough to the pinball arcade a few buildings down. Whatever it may have been, we will not make a stop here again.

What we ordered: Family pack of 4 chili hot dogs, 2 hamburgers, and fries. Hamburgers: the flavor was lacking and come with no condiments. My husband asked for lettuce, mayo, and pickle on his. The lettuce is an up charge, it lacked the mayo, but the pickles were good. Mine had mayo and ketchup, which was able to mask the taste slightly at least. Hot dogs: the chili was bland and if you want cheese, it is extra. Onion is not a charge. We did not opt for all beef (even though we usually do everywhere else)..mustard was not an extra charge. The taste was not good, but the texture of the hotdog was at least decent. Not rubbery, but unfortunately trying to eat it when the hotdogs tasted the way they did, it was definitely difficult. Fries: we had chili and cheese added. It did not help the taste of the fries so we loaded it down with malt vinegar, salt, and pepper. All of this still did not help with the taste. We ate a few bites and were done. The upcharge for chili and cheese for the family size was understandable, but when the taste is lacking, it didn’t make sense. Drinks: they all come in styrofoam cups with lids, which is convenient. A friend of ours did not finish his food. He ordered a chili cheese hot dog with fries. He did not like any of it. They do offer other items as well and have a kid menu.

Within 10 minutes of finishing what I could, I was in the bathroom for 20 minutes with stomach cramping and bathroom issues. The unfortunate thing is they did not have enough toilet paper in either stall. That was a disappointment as bathrooms should always be checked. Thank goodness for the lady in the stall next to me that she had a little bit extra.

Our server did end up Giving us extra cheese for our fries as we had them boxed up. Not sure if we will finish those fries.

Our server was busy with other tables, but did get to us in adequate time. I can tell she’s not use to frustrated customers. Long story short with that, a lot of the issues we had were not exactly her fault. We will not return here and will just drive the distance to another food place or spend the money on Cocca’s Pizza next time (which is good, just pricey). Our other option is to just eat the food offered at the pinball arcade we were at.

As I do not want this to be completely negative, I will say that the bathrooms were clean and there is plenty of parking. They are also quick with bringing food out.

What needs to improve? The taste of everything. And probably lower the cost of anything that needs added to the food if they are not going to...

We've been here many, MANY times in the past. It's one of my son's favorite places. Baseball game ends Thursday night. We're in Struthers. I want to eat in Struthers. Kids want Jib Jab. We google it...closes at 9...22 mins away. OK. Fine. We arrive at 7:46. Go inside. Sit down. So does another couple. Manager immediately locks doors. Everyone ignores both of our tables. Eventually, manager says both tables "snuck in" says that probably 10 times in the 30 mins we were there. Loudly. Rudely. Over and over. "Oh, NO, Baby! We close at 8!!!" Umm...well, there's no sign that says that, FB doesn't say that, google doesn't say that...how would anyone know? Also, at that point, it still wasn't 8! Loudly orders someone to wait on us. Daughters (2) both order 2 hot dogs with ketchup, I order 2 hot dogs with ketchup and mustard (wanted a burger, but they have made it clear cook is about to walk out based on these tables that "snuck in" so, whatever) son orders 4 plain hot dogs, we order a fry with cheese on the side. Food comes and I get 4 hot dogs with ketchup and mustard. One daughter gets zero hot dogs. They think she should just eat my other 2. She doesn't eat mustard. I say we need 2 hot dogs with just ketchup. Manager says, "Oh, Baby! We don't do that!" What? Put ketchup on hotdogs at a hotdog shop? Ok? Umm, what? We all look at my other daughter's hot dogs with ketchup and look at her...she says, "I guess go get her 2 plain dogs and she can put her own ketchup on." OK...All dogs are burnt and lukewarm. Fries are tiny, old, very cold, broken pieces of actual fries and a very small portion compared to previous owners.We leave the 2 k&m hot dogs I didn't order and my son's entire vanilla milkshake he didn't drink because there was something brown and gross inside the styrofoam cup. I pay for everything and I tip 20%, because I'm not an AHole. But I won't be back until there are drastic changes made. I should also note that the place was FILTHY. Like no one had even swept any part of the floor that day at all. I'd like the manager to know that I'm old enough to be her mother and most certainly NOT her baby, although she called me that numerous times. The dude at the other table that supposedly "snuck in" was in a nonstop battle with himself to not cause a big scene and I really, really, FELT that! To the point where I just left my 1st review of anyplace, EVER. I'm not a complainer. To anyone, about anything. But that experience was...
