I don’t know why I still come here. It used to be amazing and I keep hoping it’ll go back. But now I’d give the service a ZERO if I could. We usually do pick up and I’m ALWAYS MISSING something. Literally. Every single time. I’ve paid for so much cheese I’ve never gotten (Which don’t get me started on the $10 large cheese that comes in the smallest To Go container ever) but I was lucky to have even gotten that this time. I walk in to do my pickup and the girls at the a to Go counter is counting receipts and about as blah as possible. She doesn’t say anything so there’s a ton of places you walk in and pick up on your own bags. There’s one bag with my name. So I went over to it and tried to look through it but she got onto me. Asked my name and I told her then proceeded to lecture me about not going through it. I said “oh I’m sorry. Is it ok to take?” And she just lectured me again and she was quiet and annoyed so I could hardly hear and I was like- ok am I not ok to take it? And after telling me three times to wait for them she oked it. So grabbed the bag and walked out, sour because I don’t normally go to restaurants to be met with that kind of attitude. I came to my car to check it a lo and behold AS PER USUAL I was missing an a la cart taco. I go back in and I’m met with the same rude, clearly annoyed at everything going on attitude. She acts like I was stupidest and to investigate a missing taco, taking the whole bag goes through it, reading my receipt making sure it’s on there, calling it back. At that time I see a sign BEHIND ME that says to wait for an employee to check the food. Might help to put it on the To Go stand where people can read it if it’s going to get me treated like a stupid irritating idiot. There’s printed paper instructions taped all over all nice and professionally, but the only one I could see that says anything about not taking the food, is behind you. You only see it when you turn to leave. Another person walked in while I was waiting on my taco and honestly you just need a new person to stand up there. Where’s the greeting? I am not easily bothered especially when it comes to restaurants. I’ve been a hostess, server and a bartender. I can empathize all day long, but I never acted so annoyed and rude to anyone. I can’t belive you all are ok with this. This was Saturday 9/13 around 7pm. I won’t be back. Pictures is an almost $8 a la carte spinach enchilada. $3.15 of it is the Rancho cheese dip. They’re ripping us off on to go just with the cost of...
Read moreWent to this restaurant to celebrate the birthday of old friend. It took about 15 minutes to find a parking place. The lot was full. The environment was: 1. very crowded. we had 10 people seated at two small tables placed together. My wife and I shared the end of the table and there was not enough room to place the menu on the table to view it. It was very noisy and impossible to talk with anyone who was not sitting next to you. The floor was dirty. The Food: I thought the food was fairly priced and a better bargain if ordered from the al a cart menu. Most basic dinners were $12-$13. The food I had was tex-mex. It was VERY bland and did not taste at all like any Mexican. The chip salsa tasted strongly of tomato (and ketchup or tomato juice with no hint of spices). At first, I thought it must be just me. But at the end of dinner, I noticed more than half the chip salsa cups hat not been touched and were all full. The food servings seemed to be more than you can eat and most plates were left with about half not eaten. WAITRESS SERVICE: The waitress was very nice and was efficient. I think the staff there may be the saving grace. As much as I did not like the environment or food, she did an excellent job and we tipped 20%. My Thoughts - As I left I thought to myself - what would I change about this restaurant. I starting by thinking that I would not be there. But then, after that, I thought Nothing. The place was packed, it was very noisy, the food was a lot (but not too good), and they were apparently making money. If that is that people like (and it seems to be), then all is good. If that is your type of place, you may be pleased. I was...
Read moreThe Rancho Grande Liberty location is quite good. Our server Brooke was amazing and checked on us consistently. She also checked in the kitchen to see if the beans were vegetarian (they aren't as they use lard).
My party ordered several different entree combinations. Everything was fresh and hot. I especially loved me chicken chimichanga, which was my first ever chimichanga We also got enchiladas, tacos, and tostadas with our various meals. Everything was delicious. Two of our party took food home and so made two meals out of one entree.
The atmosphere was your typical family restaurant vibe. The restaurant was clean and open and we arrived early enough to beat the dinner rush. Rancho Grande Liberty does have daily drink and food specials; Taco Tuesdays are especially popular.
Our server Brooke was very friendly and polite, especially as we got a little lost in between shift changes. I appreciated that she checked on us but didn't hover. There's a balance to serving and Brooke is quite good at that balance.
My brother loves Rancho Grand and goes there regularly. He was happy to show off one of his favorite restaurants. Hopefully we'll be able to return soon.
Edit 08/06/2023: Gabby was phenomenal as our server. She was slammed with tables but managed to juggle us all very well. The food was as good as usual, and we were able to share with no problems. The portions were very generous. I also appreciated the two kinds of mints for...
