Tacos El Rey De Oro — Restaurant in Libertyville

This is a new to this place for me. I order twice in one week. I order first a burrito dinner for breakfast. I called it in and got it on time. The only thing is that the burrito inside was not wrapped tight and meat was falling all over. Tasted good but for me appearance is important to me. Today 6/13, thought I give it another try and order for pick up, through website. I’m got there and door was locked. I called about 3 times and no response. I only have 30 minutes for breakfast so time is important to me. I knocked at door and still nothing. 10 minutes have passed and by this time I had already called 7 times. By now I see the lady there but she’s not looking at door. She did answer 3 times but I’m not sure if she heard me or was ignoring me. I moved away from the door to big window and kept knowing on glass, by this time my hand was hurting from knocking too hard. Finally she turns around but doesn’t want to open door. I can tell she says “ door is open” which I said “ no is locked” . She finally goes to door and opens it. At this time I’m mad and hungry and told her that I been there for 10 minutes and no one responds to call. At this pint I wasn’t even hungry anymore, food is called and tortillas are too soft. This place is HORRIBLE....STAY AWAY. Against my better judgement, I decided to bring my hubby here and we were disappointed immediately. We've been to a million Mexican restaurants and chips and salsa are ALWAYS complimentary, but, not this place! I honestly can't think of a single place where it wasn't complimentary. We were going to leave after finding that out, since, there are many other places we'd rather support, that are not shady like that. But, we were in a rush, so, we weren't thinking clearly. I would've rather skipped lunch, instead of eating sub-par food, with no care or pride in it. To top off the low quality food we were served, we both got sick! That was proof that there was no care or pride taken in how they prepare and serve food to their patrons. This place is a rip-off....save your money and spend it ANYWHERE ELSE. There's NO VALUE WHATSOEVER. You should steer clear of this place, unless you like to get sick, eat low-quality food, and over-pay. It's also located in a strip mall, which is fine, but, the prices simply don't correlate. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

Went in and sat down because the food is great. We ordered our drinks and were ready to order so we asked if we could place our order. The lady that was taking our order said she was busy but she would ask another lady to take our order. (Take in mind there was only one other table besides ours) so another lady came and took our order she looked mad as if she didn't want to take our order. We still ordered and a few minutes later she came back and said they only had enough steak for one order. How is it possible that they don't have enough steak.. We FINALLY got our drinks and they gave us the wrong drinks. The lady that took our drinks had written down the wrong drinks. We got our food and the steak didn't look right. The sauce they put was only drizzled on top and the steak was not completely covered like usual. Also the sauce they put was the wrong sauce. This was one of our favorite restaurants around the area but don't plan on stopping by ever again. Disappointed.
