My fiancé introduced me to Izzy’s NY Pizza back in 2017. As a native New Yorker living in GA, he swore by Izzy’s, and we would frequent Izzy’s when I came to Lilburn. I have loved it ever since. My food has always been great. Izzy, his family, and the employees have always been courteous. My fiancé passed away, but I still drive across town for Izzy’s. I’ve never had a complaint. However today, I ordered an 18” NY Supreme pizza, 30 pcs lemon pepper wings (my favorite), and an order of fried calamari to bring home for family dinner. I checked the pizza before I left, but the wings and calamari were already tied up in a bag with a knot. Since I’ve never had an issue, and my receipt said lemon pepper, I didn’t think twice about it. I live about 40 minutes away, so when I got home, I eagerly opened the bag only to discover that all my wings were hot wings. I immediately called Izzy’s to let them know. I also let them know that I couldn’t come back all the way across town right away, but I would like the order corrected. The young man that answered the phone remembered me and was very apologetic, but when he asked the owner what to do about it, the owner told him just to give me a credit for half the wings. I understand business and that times are tough for a lot of people, but I’m very disappointed I didn’t get what I ordered and paid for. I could have gone to any number of restaurants closer to home, but I specifically chose Izzy’s NY Pizza, because of my previous experiences. I do appreciate the credit for half of my wings; but do I feel like the owner should have credited me for the whole order of wings, because that was a mistake the restaurant made, and the receipt was clear. Sometimes something as simple as exemplary customer service makes all the difference to a customer. As a repeat customer, I am very...

My pizza sucked enough for me to sign in and write a bad review. My experience was not like all the good reviews posted here. I ordered a large cheese pizza and it was TERRIBLE. Maybe I got an inexperienced pizza maker or maybe they give their take out customers poorly made pizzas because my pizza tasted like toasted bread with a little bit of cheese sprinkled on top. The cheese was so thin, I could see the sauce through the cheese. I threw away half of it. What a waste of time and money. How was I even allowed to walk out of there with the pizza I got? Is there no quality control?
I've lived in New York also and if you called what I got a true New York cheese pizza, I'd slap you in the face.
EDIT MESSAGE TO THE OWNER: Why would I come back and give you another chance by paying for another pizza? Wouldn't you just make sure it was made properly this time? I ordered a large cheese pizza and meatball sub for takeout that day I left the review. Find that order number and find out who made that pizza and fire them or train them better. I will never come back and eat the disgusting pizza I ate at your restaurant. I'm offended that I was allowed to leave with that cheese pizza. I literally threw away more than half of the large pizza. I've eaten a lot of pizzas in my life and this is the only time I was served a pizza terrible enough for me to take time out of my day and write up an essay of a bad review. Your restaurant's customer service, quality control, and pizza makers are all terrible and you...
Read moreI was not happy with the customer service, and we won't be back. The pizza tasted fine. Having lived in upstate New York for several years, I can't say it truly captures the deliciousness of a real New York (or New Jersey) slice, but it definitely is New York-style and better than what is offered at any of the chains by far. Of course, it is also more expensive than the chains, so it SHOULD be better. Anyway, even if it was the best pizza in the world, I would not go back to a restaurant that treats me rude. When I'm paying over $20 for a pie, I expect to be treated with some modicum of respect. There were 2 young men working the kitchen and register when I was there. There were about 5 other diners in the restaurant. You could chalk it up to being "busy" (which it really wasn't), but in the end it seemed more like plain and purposeful rudeness. I know young kids just aren't always polite these days, but if this is really a family-run establishment, then these young men should understand that treating a customer well is part of running a good food services business. I wanted to like this place, we were so excited as a family to try it, but the whole experience just ruined my night and rubbed me the wrong way. I'll be eating my pizza somewhere else, where they treat me like a...
