Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Lilburn

I order from here quite a bit. Nice people. Their food prep hygiene needs to improve, or at least be consistent. Having worked in food service, I always notice minor things (that is everywhere), but here, over the last few visits, I've seen 1) An employee prepping my order with her bare hand (she had one glove on) and 2) an employee was prepping my food, came to register (to see what I was waiting for) - touched the register, went back to prepping my food - then she put my wrap in the microwave..and then she puts her hair up and takes off her apron - while still wearing her gloves. She then goes back to prepping/handling my food with the same gloves on. I just left, didn't bother asking for a refund.

These workers are young folks, so I don't really blame them. Management should do a better job with instilling consistent food prep hygiene and discipline.

That said, the food here is generally fantastic - but I won't be back to this location...

I’ve personally had the strawberry banana and the peanut butter smoothie I love them. They’re not heavy they still have a burst of flavor. I keep telling myself I’ll try another smoothie flavor but those two are my favorites. I definitely want to touch on the peanut butter version due to having tried similar versions in different businesses but tropical smoothie is definitely my number one. It isn’t like other places who it feels like it’s doing more harm than good

I’ve told friends and family and they’ve tried the food items on here. They were hesitant but when they received their order they were amazed how delicious everything was. Great fresh quality food. It’s a refreshing to have something every now and than that doesn’t feel heavy on your body. Go check them out.

PS staff all friendly almost forgot to mention since I was amazed by the smoothies. But the staff were all nice and friendly. Patient with me and helped answer...

I went here for the first time and ordered an açaí bowl! However, I received it completely frozen. When I went back the register to have this issue resolved, I was told there was nothing the employee could do. I had to wait over 30 min for it to defrost, and it was still full of ice chunks, which doesn’t embody the experience and food I was expecting to receive. I’m disappointed because not only did I not receive a fresh açaí bowl (as advertised), but I had to wait entirely too long for it to defrost, and then it still not be enjoyable. Where is the convenience in that? Atleast have a bowl or 2 defrosted and ready to consume just in case…. Especially if it isn’t made in store. I could’ve just went to smoothie king where their bowl are freshly made, and the customer satisfaction is typically higher to me. I’m not sure if I’d come back or not, as I was pretty disappointed and my issue didn’t...
