My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and we’ve always appreciated the food AND staff. I’ve introduced so many friends and relatives to this place over time. But after this disappointing experience, especially with one specific staff member, I think it might be time to look elsewhere.
I visited with my niece. my niece’s water had a bug in it, and mine had visible floaties. When we pointed it out to the waitress, she simply said, “that’s gross,” in a tone that came across as rude and dismissive. She didn’t apologize or take the cups away she just silently took our order and walked off. It was deeply unsettling, and I was upset so I told her we are just going to leave. We ended up leaving before she could even bring replacements or our order of cake.
A few days later me and my niece go in expecting a different experience. We sat down and were immediately handed water without a single word not even a hello. We weren’t even asked what we wanted to drink. And there was no ice that night because the machine was broke. but this same waitress comes up to us and asks “are we going to get cake today ladies?” and in the most sarcastic and rude tone. I ordered in but i wasn’t going to sit here and handle the disrespect. as soon as my food came I grabbed my own boxes and asked for the check so we can just leave. During checkout she didn’t say not one word. She put my amount in and walked away from the counter. you can clearly tell she had an attitude and obviously she did not receive any tip.
This wasn’t the first time we’ve had issues. On a prior occasion, I called in a pickup order and the woman on the phone was immediately rude. When I arrived in person, I realized it was the same woman her tone, both over the phone and face to face, made the whole experience unpleasant. At first, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. we all have off days but this is ridiculous.
And unfortunately, the water situation hasn’t been a one-time thing either. The past couple of times we’ve visited, the water has consistently had floaties or just didn’t seem clean. That, paired with the lack of professionalism and courtesy from this particular staff member, has made it hard to feel comfortable dining here anymore.
I genuinely hope this feedback reaches someone who can make a change. This restaurant has so much potential and a loyal customer base that wants to see it succeed. But right now, something needs to shift because no one should feel disrespected or ignored when they’re just trying to enjoy a meal.
Cameo is not a bad restaurant at all. My family and friends love it but it’s just disappointing that this is what we are experiencing right now.
