Chesley's is the best bar in Lincoln Park, in my opinion. Always good vibes, good food, good drinks, and good service when going in. It's a very intimate feel, as the building capacity is very small. So that is something to keep in mind if you plan to go with a large group of people.
The waitresses are very personable and attentive and will often be working by themselves because of their good service skills and because of the fact that the building and capacity is so small that they do not have to travel far.
The food and drinks are probably what make this bar better than the others in Lincoln Park. The cocktails are nice and strong and reasonably priced. With that said, the beer is somewhat cheap as well. As for the food, the menu is themed with icons throughout Lincoln Park, which is kind of cool. I almost always get an appetizer, whether it be their fried zucchini, the wings, or the perogies. As far as dinner, their cajun chicken sandwich or southwest chicken is what I usually get, even though their pizza fries are also really good and probably more of a favorite by others.
Overall, this place is one of my spots, even though there are quite a few regulars that are in here daily and not every couple months or so like me. You can drive by this place on a Tuesday night at 1:45am and there will still be a nice sized group of people getting last call (pre-covid). So if you are ever in the area, I'd certainly stop by. It's...
Read moreVery rude owner . Saw a rat running across the floor before I got my order and when I mentioned it to the server she apologized and said they have been having a pest issue but have a company working on it . I asked to pay for the pop that I had and no longer wanted to the food. Mind you, my order had not been served to me yet. The waitress left and the owner came back and asked what the issue was, when I explained I just didn’t feel comfortable eating there and would just like the bill for the drinks the owner became belligerent saying a “mouse is nothing to be worried about” and said the food was already made and I was going to be charged regardless . I tried to remain calm since my 3 year old daughter was sitting with me and I didn’t want an altercation happening in front of her. I kindly told her I didn’t have an issue paying For the drinks and leaving a tip because it wasn’t the servers fault but I just didn’t feel comfortable consuming the food and even though the rat wasn’t a big deal to her; it was for me . She started using racial slurs and that’s when I left a $20 bill on the table and grabbed my daughter and left immediately . She was saying more stuff on my way out but I was talking to my daughter trying to distract her from what the lady was saying . I’ve never felt more humiliated in my life . I thought this place would be good because the reviews but that was not the case . I’m still so shaken...
Read moreNice neighborhood bar. I have to change my review from 7 months ago. Unfortunately it's a bad review. This place has lost its appeal. Customer service is really bad. I stopped in tonight and sat at the bar while the bartender chatted with people at the other end. I was sitting there for 14 minutes. Never looked down or came over to take a drink order. I get It..you get involved in conversation with regulars and guests appreciate conversations with the servers. But you have to look around and and pay attention to others. Now this has happened more then once. I got up and went down the street. I just moved downriver and maybe stopped in a dozen or more times. Trying to find a local bar that I would visit regularly. I give up on your establishment. I owned a bar .mr or mrs owner, you have to retrain your staff. You went...
