Yum Yum Donuts — Restaurant in Lincoln Park

I’ve had donuts and pączkis from this place many times. Usually it’s great. My favorite kinds are dense, chocolate type donuts like double chocolate. I like sour cream donuts. Also, I like plain fried donuts, glazed or not.

Basically, I’m a connoisseur of basic, fried, simple, slightly crunchy, greasy donuts rather than flavors, sprinkles, glazes, or fillings.

So I was greatly disappointed when I brought home some sour cream donuts this week. I loved how heavily fried they were, with a dense crunch, and beautiful color. But the oil tasted old, and, dare I say, FISHY. I don’t know if they fried some shrimp with their donut oil, or if it’s just old and rancid, but there’s definitely a problem. I absolutely love the donuts. I stop in on Fridays to get donuts for work. The problem I have is the owner. She is always nasty and rude to me. I say hello, good morning or acknowledged the holidays. She never responds at all. I was there today and she was talking to a young lady that was behind the counter. She snapped at me “ what do you want”. “Pick your donuts”. I looked at her and commented I was waiting for her to finish talking. I don’t need you to wait, just tell me what you want. She’s friendly to the regulars and the men customers that sit at the counter. She been friendly to other customers that have come in before me. I’m not quite sure why she’s so rude but I will say if the donuts weren’t so good I would never...

the ONLY breakfast stop in Detroit for our family. we stop here every morning on the way home from work. the hot cocoa is excellent 👌 I absolutely love how they are community oriented, and they remember every person they ever serve.

our very first experience my brother, sister in law, and I stopped in first thing in the morning, ordered our stuff and went about our day. the next morning it was just my brother and they asked where my sister and law and I were at 😭❤️. top tier customer service, reminds me of our donut shop back home (small town Texas). will be back every day until we leave...
