La Finca Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lincoln Park

I've driven past this place on more than one occation and its always been closed. Well when I drove by a couple days ago, I noticed it was open. So I decided to stop in and give it a try.

They did not have alcohol, which was fine by me, but feel like they'd do a much better business if they did. They did a good job with the decor. It is mexican themed without overdoing it. The chips and salsa were good, though the salsa was a little runny. It tasted quite good though.

They actually had a good variety on their menu. They even have breakfast, which will be good to try some day. What I got was the ceviche tostata for an appetizer. It was about what you'd expect. For an entree, I got the santiago platter, which was a quesadilla, chimichanga and a taco plus the beans and rice. This was under $10, which was a good value in my opinion. One flaw I did notice was that they did not offer steak on the quesadilla, which I thought was a little odd.

Overall, this place was not bad at all. It was more than what I expected. The prices are good, the service is prompt and friendly, and the food is tasty. I do hope that this place can make it in such a competitive market for mexican food. I really do think that serving alcohol would help out their business. Today's lunch a special order Chori Pollo OMG mixed Chorizo n Chicken topped with Cheese Marvelous just ask. She had a Chunky Beef Wet Burrito Yummy 😋. Thanks Yolanda 😊 for the 5 star service. Best Al Pastor Taco's around town, been a dozen times since opening. A favorite in Lincoln Park 3073 Fort has a large following of regular customers 😁. $1.79 each Taco Tuesday packs the place for dine in and take out customers. Sergio, wife Karen and sister Yolanda run the place along with help from three kids. Jalisco Mexico the hometown via Sw Detroit has marvelous Authentic Mexican meals and Booze too. My favorite Al Pastor Tacos 😋 rule, I'm addicted have them once per month. I have them add Sauteed Onions and Jalapeno for a Xtra kicker, with fabulous Salsa Verde. She had the Chicken Tacos 😋, we shared a outstanding Steak Fries. Those fries one of the very best ever Eaten, plenty for 3 or more to share. Order to carry out from these guys beef, enchiladas, and ordered extra cheese. Everybody knows when you order enchiladas they’re supposed to be Smothered and cheese all over the top. Mine not only did it not have extra cheese. It hardly had any cheese just on the middle enchilada and none on either side and the meat tasted really gritty. I would not recommend this place and I’m sure they won’t do anything to try to compensate me for the terrible food. The girl that took my order over the phone and gave me my food was extremely nice and helpful but I feel bad for because she can’t possibly be making that good of tips when customers can’t be happy with this food. It won’t let me post a picture of the food ate three bites out of so I hope whoever reads this doesn’t make the bad decision that I made because now I’m at work and I’m still hungry and out $17...
