Well it goes like this! Me and my Kandy when to visit her parents on our summer vacation . We heading there happens to see a beautiful bakery in the very familiar strip mall with several stores from Nayco to Subway! We also were going to her nephews house and we decided to bring something special and we happened to see GingerSnaps!
I used to live in the arena when I was working in Lincoln . Upon arrival we saw gorgeous family owned bakery that looked so friendly we had to visit! We walked in and was greeted immediatey from a friend and kind voice! Love that! This place is amazing ! They have so many different savory smells coming from the homemade cupcakes pies and cookies!
I couldn’t believe how great it smelled in there amd not to mention this place it so clean you actually could eat off the floor! It is set up so nice and there is decadent sweets in every corner and to every turn! We didn’t know what to decide on so see just took a dozen of the amazing cupcakes 1 of each of their tasty and hug cookies and lastly 1 of each of their delicious pies! You gotta support your local small business you know!
This is one of the few places that made it through the tough 2020 experience! We go to my lady’s nephews houses and our car was loaded with so many sweet smelling items they almost didn’t make it inside the ! When we arrived we carried the amazing items in and showed them to everyone and said you had to try a piece of each and that’s the way to do it so everyone can share the Ginger Snap experience !! Everyone was in awe at how moist the cake was and how delicious and smooth and tasty the icing on the cupcakes were!
We scored big time! Great prices quality ingredients and good service? How can you lose? You can’t because the portions are large and generous! This place is amazing and we will definitely be back! Thank you...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. As someone who lives closeby, I've frequented this bakery many times since they opened years ago. After many chances, I just don't think I can do it any more. The shop is small and sweet. Beautiful penmanship points you to the names of all the treats and sweets they offer. It is very quaint and cute. My issue is mainly with the service. In the very beginning, I do believe I was serviced by the owner/baker. She was fabulous. However, since then, there has been the same woman (older, red hair) behind the counter. I've noticed time after time that she will be courteous to whoever is in line before me, and the person after me, but short and or silent with me. No smiling face or kind words like she gives to other customers. Even with custom cake orders, I've noticed that she sounds chipper and kind over the phone, but the second I come in to the store and she sees my face, she is a little rude or unfriendly and it feels like she wants me out of there as soon as possible. Now I am not someone who needs smiles and kind words. I am fine with curt service, especially if it is busy. But to see how she acts with other customers, and how she acts with me, makes me wonder if maybe it is due to the color of my skin or something else. Either way, I do not feel welcomed in this bakery when she is behind the counter. I also feel that the cakes themselves are more buttercream than cake, but I know some people...
Read moreWonderful little bakery! I ordered a coffee milk cake for my fiancés 23rd birthday and it came out beautifully. The ordering process was straight forward and I love that I was able to place my order via email. The staff here was wonderful to work with. His cake was clearly baked and decorated with care; the owner and their staff definitely take pride in their work.
My fiancé is a coffee milk fanatic and he loves the flavor of the cake. I’m not a RI native like he is so I’m not a huge fan of coffee milk, but the cake is still very enjoyable. I would eat it again and choose to do so. We also grabbed a little chocolate cream pie that was in the display case and it was delicious. I don’t like super sweet desserts so I could only have a couple bites of the pie but the flavor and texture was phenomenal.
The cake is not overly sweet, but the frosting is sweet in my opinion (but it is cake so it SHOULD be sweet!). My fiancé doesn’t think it’s that sweet, but I’ve always preferred the actual cake part over the frosting while he can eat just the frosting on its own. The environment of the bakery was positive, and it was clean and nicely decorated. A huge plus for me is that this bakery is latex free, so I do not need to worry about having an allergic reaction while enjoying a treat! I will absolutely come back and order more cakes for events...
