While traveling Route 66, this location was referred to us at one of the visitor centers. It is kinda tucked away in a unusual space behind a arcade. We were first seated outside, but quickly chose to go inside due to a couple of loud and obnoxious young men with some very foul language! We chose the outside because the dining area is upstairs and my wife doesn't do well with stairs. Seeing that it was a nice evening, we would have much more preferred the outside dining... When we mentioned it to the server, she just commented "Yea, they have been here for a while". We ordered a triple appetizer, thinking it would be 3 small portions... it was NOT! It was 3 huge appetizers!! They were all delicious!! Fried Ravioli, Fried Mushrooms and Mega cheesy fries (I forget the actual name). We chose pizza for our meal, since we like to try pizza from different areas when traveling. Once again, we over ordered... The large was not just large, but HUGE! It was hot and very good!! No way we could eat it all. We were there near closing time, but never felt rushed in any way. Our server, and the servers around us, were all very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was having to climb the stairs.

So three of us went on a Saturday @ 6:00 w/reservations and still had a twenty minute wait. With that said it is a very, very busy place. We all three had the French Onion soup for starters, it was luke warm and seemed to be the bottom of the barrel (and old) so much so, it gave us the "hope we don't get sick feeling". My friend got the prime rib, and I have had it here before as it is the Fri & Sat special. If you want it anymore done than rare they throw the thing on the grill, let me repeat "they throw the thing on the grill" . As most places will put it in a hot au jus bath. It does bad things to it and I don't think they are using the greatest cuts in the first place. The wife and I both had the tenderloin sandwich. They were pretty tasty, lightly battered and crunchy. Could've used some seasoning but were still good and perfectly cooked. I would've liked them a bit thicker and on a toasted bun, but certainly not a deal breaker. The staff has always been wonderful here and it is group friendly. They have a wonderful menu and I would recommend.

Beyond OUTSTANDING! My wife and I were passing through on our way back home to Michigan and asked the clerk at the Holiday Inn Express for their recommendation to a good restaurant, they recommended Guzzardo's without hesitation. When we arrived at Guzzardo's we entered the door that read 'First Timers, Come On In', it was the door to the kitchen! Nick, the grandson to the founder of Guzzardo's told us to come on in and asked if we had reservations we told Nick we didn't and he said no problem, they got us a table real quick. We ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni and onions - it was DELICIOUS, probably one of the best pizza's I've ever had. Several people around us ordered prime rib, I told the one party next to us that I'll give him my telephone number, if he can't eat it all to give me a call that I'll finish it for him, the prime rib looked awesome. If you are passing through Lincoln make it a priority to stop at Guzzardo's Italian Villa, you will not be disappointed.

Let me start by saying, Our family moved here not long ago. That being said, I'm sure we missed out in this restaurant's historical, meaningful place in this beautiful community. I'm sorry if this hurts those who have fond memories of this place. I can only speak of our first (last and only) time dining here. Our server was great! However, she and the flavorful prime rib, though very fatty, is where our positive experience abruptly ended. We were a table of four, my husband and I with our two daughters. Though prices were difficult to discern, we are frequent travelers and restaurant visitors who were prepared for a nice evening in our new town. The girls shared a pizza. Hubby and I had the Friday night prime rib special plus ravioli appetizer. The side salads were pitiful at best. The table bread and French onion soup was too cold to melt butter or cheese. The cheese wasn't toasted. It was simply placed on top of the gelotinous cold soup. We were then offered an opportunity to choose a different side. We chose steamed broccoli. Only one broccoli came before our meal ended, and it too was too cold to melt butter. The restaurant doesn't serve alcohol nor dessert. Between the food and table covers and chairs being vinyl diner style, giving an indication of what might be expected bill wise. Our sticker shock was above and beyond when our bill was still in excess of $175 That's not to say we've never had similar dining bills with all our travels. However, the food was much better. The ambiance gave evidence of what to expect, and there were drinks and desert included in the price. We will support the community we've quickly come to love...

My family and I came along this gem of a restaurant from on our way back home from Missouri. We were starving, googled a restaurant and so happy we found this. When you walk in you feel like your at home. Very cute quaint with a great atmosphere. First off the food is amazing!!! Be hungry when you come because the portions are big. Little pricey but well worth every penny. You will be taking a goody bag home. Not to mention the amazing salad bar!! Its a make your own salad with lots of other stuff for add ons like pasta salad and fantastic french onion soup with bread. And not to mention the AMAZING pea salad!! I ordered the rib eye. Cooked to perfection!! Tasted amazing. My husband ordered the a chicken dinner that was like chic parm. That was amazing!! My kids loved their meals as well. Our waitress was amazing as well.(forgot her name, but all I know is she didn't like the French onion soup 😂) She filled my sons iced tea 4 or 5 times without even asking. She gave great recommendations and basically said there isn't anything you can order wrong, and she was right. I also love how you can bring your own beer or wine here. Very cool idea. I saw many with their bottles of wine and sharing a great meal together. If you forget the wine or beer you can purchase alcohol across the court and bring it to your table. We live over a couple hours from here, but I will make sure when I visit my son at ISU, that I will be making a special stop here. Lovely place, felt like I was eating at grandma's, so warm and welcoming and the food was amazing. Definitely a stop you should make. Kudos to the owner, you've got a gem...

I love this restuarant. We started with an order of fried ravioli they are very large delicious and the very flavorful marinara is outstanding. I've also had the onion rings on previous visits and they are great, if you're a onion ring lover give them a try. My girlfriend ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo and I couldn't wait till they brought it to her. It's a truly enormous portion with two large chicken breast fillets that are delicious and the alfredo sauce has a very nice buttery, cheesy rich flavor, her eyes couldn't believe it. I had the large cut prime rib a pound and a half portion of perfectly roasted beef that melted in my mouth. I also had the broiled lobster tail mmm. And their salad bar does not have an enormous selection but is very fresh and always delicious items, the pea salad is my favorite I've ever had I highly recommend it. Also they have French onion soup on the salad bar, I know hard to believe and great fresh bread. The steaks are fantastic and the pasta dishes are all very tasty with large portions. With great service that always matches the outstanding food it's a true treasure, no wonder it's been in business since 1957. I drive an hour and a half to dine there as often as possible and am envious of anyone living close that can enjoy it more often. One of my top five restaurants, do yourself a favor and give it a try. PS they do not have any desserts on the menu the first time I went there I didn't understand until I'd eaten there ( no room...
