I was extremely offended that in the middle of my meal I was asked to move over a couple of the seats at the bar. Typically if there isn’t room you don’t ask someone who is actually eating a meal to move. One of the employees was sitting at the bar and they could have asked him to move to make two seats available and instead asked me a single woman. I ordered the Tuna Tartare and it tasted extremely fishy and had no other flavor. I ordered their charcuterie board and that was disappointing as well. Sometimes simplicity is best. Some restaurants try to match a theme or vibe and overshoot like this one did. This restaurant was recommended to me since I am new to the area and looking for a sophisticated palette. I might have to continue looking. My bad, I should have handed money to the employees in order to get the seat I want or at least keep my seat! Now I am even more offended because they asked the couple that made me move…move over for someone waiting for a table. Totally ridiculous! One other note, don’t believe the menu…almost everything is not available or they don’t have. For a single woman, this is not the friendliest nor most welcoming atmosphere. They had a couple of very lovely girls working at the bar who did try to rectify the food situation so I want to make sure they are well received. Sometimes being a single woman you do get discriminated on at restaurants and managers and staff should be aware that I tip as well as anyone if the service is good and I am treated with respect. What restaurants tend to forget is that you need to also ensure that new patrons feel welcomed and want to come back and this restaurant did not make me feel welcomed which is disappointing since I always like a good bar. I love trying to enjoy a meal when a man is standing over me as I eat and is rude…but since he knows the hostess it is okay for him to be rude to other patrons. The ironic aspect to this experience is the fact that as a single woman I spent more than a married couple and still was treated as...
Read moreThis was my first time enjoying MoMo's. My boyfriend had been before a couple times and was pleased previously but tonight blew us away!
The restaurant was busy, so we took a seat at the bar. It took a little bit before anyone address us, but that's because they were so busy. We were handed menus by who we presume was possibly an owner. He cordially stepped back acknowledging we'd be far better off being helped by the Bartender Jen. We respected and appreciated that he did not overstep his roll. As soon as Jen finished up the drinks she was making, she greeted us promptly, recited the specials with graceful excitement, and we ordered. We took her recommendation for the pizza of the week, and also ordered the golden beets appetizer and a pasta dish, as well as drinks. All of the food was delicious, strong but balanced flavors, and surprisingly light considering all of the cheese! About half way through our meal, Jen recommended a different whiskey for my boyfriend, which he ended up ordering. I took a sip, and we both loved it. Jen definitely knows how to read her customers! We packed up some of the pasta to take home, and Jen talked us into getting the bread pudding for dessert (didn't take much convincing, because it sounded amazing) and it did not disappoint! It was abundantly clear the staff of MoMo's love their job, particularly Jen. We both said we wouldn't be surprised if she opens her own cocktail bar someday!
MoMo's dinner is certainly going to become a regular outing for us. We could not...
Read moreWas going to meet family there yesterday 8-14 for my nephew's birthday with a party of 9. As my parents and I walk in, the hostess (an older lady) immediately looked at us, we asked if there was a reservation put in either under my sister's name, or my nephew's name, the hostess rudely said no to each one, and said they only had a reservation for 9 for another group, that was not us.
We asked if we could take a table, and wait for the rest of our party, the hostess snapped at us again, stating we needed a reservation, about this time I'm assuming was the owner (an older man) comes trampling over, and rudely stared at us, and asks if there was a problem, we told him we were there to meet up for a birthday party, and he rudely told us that the only way we could be seated is if we had a reservation.
So we sat out in the entry way for close to fifteen minutes, and waited until my nephew got there, when he got there he attempted to get us a table, but was greeted in the same fashion by the hostess, so we left and took our business elsewhere.
My sister even tried to get in one time with my niece at 11 in the morning, and was told by the hostess that they needed a reservation? Who is that busy at 11 in the morning, right after you open your doors at that time?
If I could rate this place zero stars I would. This would be the first time I would have visited here, but after the treatment we received, I will definitely not be...
