We recently went out for my husband's birthday. He and the kids shared the Gyoza, I started with Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon. They were a little sweeter than what I like but the filling ratio was great and the wrapper was especially thin and crispy. Next the trendy Soup Dumplings which are referred to as Small Steam Buns on the menu. There are only a couple of places in town that serve these. He LOVES them, loved the sauce. Kids tried one but weren't a fan.
For his entree he chose a Chef's Special- Crazy Spicy Chicken. He was asked if he was sure if that's really what he wanted. I told our server it was perfect for him. Fried chicken pieces, chiles, peanuts, and onions. He was super happy!
I ordered Sesame Chicken for the kids and Veggie Fried Rice for me. I forgot it doesn't include egg, mental note for next time. My daughter basically lives on chicken but preferred the veggies. My son who is my vegetable fiend ate all the chicken 🙃. Completely backwards but everyone was happy! My husband is the only one amongst us who really likes broccoli so we piled it all on his plate. Win-Win.
We were the only people dining in and received lots of attention. The restaurant's interior is very modern and visually appealing. Several people picked up take out while we there. They run deals if...
Read moreWe tried this place yesterday after seeing the reviews and a menu some authentic Chinese items in addition to American Chinese food. We had the cash special, which was a really good deal. We got the General's chicken, very delicious version with nice quality meat and thick crispy breading. I could've done with more spice but I know they keep it toned down here for the locals. The tofu with crispy bean blend was as delicious a version of this dish as I've had anywhere, with lots of of delicious fried garlic. The egg roll and crab rangoon that came with the deal were solid, I only wish the hot and sour soup had been hotter and more sour and less thick, closer to the real version, but hey, it's Nebraska, and people here expect things to be a certain way. I can't wait to come back and try...
Read moreMy first time to Ms Chen 56 was everything I could have hoped for. The waiter conversed with me until we figured out what I wanted, including dietary needs. A little excursion into China, complete with cross cultural communication and the patience it takes to do so from widely different backgrounds. We even had a chance to talk about what part of China he was from and what part I had visited.
The ambience of music and decor were delightfully soothing & peaceful.
The food arrived sooner than I anticipated and fulfilled a wholesome need for sustenance lasting more than one meal.
I also appreciate that the establishment was open mid-afternoon when...
