This used to be my one of favorite Runzas for most things in my area but raising the prices isn't the only change they made recently. The burgers got xsmall, xxdry, and kinda on the cool side too which is just disturbing and possibly a little dangerous too.
I come in mostly during busy lunch times. So I don't even know how that's even possible to end up with a cool burgers. Runza if this store is using an experimental grill or something the experiment has failed. Badly. Get rid of it. They'd almost have to sticking the burgers in the cooler for a minute or two before serving them to pull off the quality I've seen here lately.
The chicken tenders have shrunk here too, to the point of being ridiculous but only at this location. Don't know how they pulled that off either. Their tenders are only slightly larger than a McDonald's chicken nuggets now and they are way over cooking them but still giving you just 4. Other locations I've been to recently haven't made these changes and if they give you tiny tenders they give you more of them and don't cook them the same amount if time they do the full size chicken tenders they normally serve. Probably because they know how pathetic a bag of rubbery way way darker than golden brown tenders that don't fill the bottom third of that bag looks.
Don't want to hear excuses or apologies. Maybe quit letting this store use full size buns and large product bags. Then things would look better at least. 13th will get it's 5 star reviews back from when it's fixed. I'm really looking forward to that dsy because I don't want to drive an extra couple of miles to answer my chicken tender and burger...
Read moreThis Runza isn't easy to rate. It has those same great runzas and excellent fries and onion rings, and like McDonald's, all sizes of fountain drinks are $.99, unlike Burger King and Wendy's, which gouge you. And Runza's ice cream cones are 99 cents or a buck, I forget, and Runza's shakes put McDonald's to shame. So for food, drinks, and desserts, I'd give this Runza five stars.
So why three stars? Because just because this Runza is in one of Lincoln's poorer neighborhoods, I say the management of this Runza needs to treat the customers of this Runza like the management of other Runzas around Lincoln treat their customers. Why no wi-fi? What happens at 2:00 p.m. that requires the restrooms to be locked? This sort of thing sends a negative message to the clientele.
All Runzas should be the same. If you have issues to deal with that other Runzas don't, the manager should come out of the kitchen and be a presence in the public area of the restaurant and take charge.
So I'm sorry, but it's three stars for my local Runza until it provides the same amenities and treats its customers the same as other Runzas...

This is a Runza where you're like, "What have I gotten myself into?" But give it a chance and you will be pleasantly surprised.
The food has always been good, or at least up to the standard I am comfortable holding a Runza. I figured it was maybe a fluke the first couple times, but it's always been good. I've gotten various burgers, chicken, fries, frings, and a salad. I would put them up against any Runza I've eaten at.
The service isn't "chipper" per say, but they're not rude. Their demeanor is that this is a fast food place, I want to go home and watch Maury, so you can deal with it. And I am perfectly comfortable doing so; I've been there. On your side.
One thing that is a bit perplexing is that my drink has always been sticky, unless I get tea. Maybe their soda fountain is messed up? A question for the ages.
Also the drive thru is in the shape of a bizarre, impossible 752 degree angle, so...
