You know how sometimes you get so excited about something, you just don’t have the words to explain, so you just keep talking hoping you get it right, but then your big goofy smile keeps getting in the way?
Like, your new puppy gets so excited when you get home they pee a little? Or, your kid opens a present and instead of words they just sequel and shake a little? Or, your favorite team does something amazing the radio guy is only able to verbalize a shaky, loud, emotional “Bang----a----rang”?
Well, that’s what happens at Muchachos. I have no words, yet I need ALL THE WORDS to explain how happy this place makes people.
The team creating magic here, is dope. The space housing this yum, is dope. Seeing crowds of satisfied folks, is dope.
The cereal lattes are stupid good. Yeah, CEREAL LATTES. The local beers on tap, exactly what you didn’t know you were craving. The margaritas are available in to-go pouches that give your cargo shorts a reason for being cargo shorts. The hatch mac (hint, hint get it in a burrito with that impossible to recreate blend of BBQ and New Mexican Flavored smoked chicken) is galaxy famous for a reason. The breakfast tacos are better than any breakfast meal has a right to be. I mean, it’s like a real reason to get out of bed in the morning.
This place is award winning. It is buzz worthy. It is an underground cult favorite hitting the mainstream.

Read moreTo say Muchachos met expectations would be a disservice and an absolute understatement. Before going, I read a few reviews and looked at some of the photos and they all looked amazing. Then I ordered the Hatch Mac Burrito and was blown away. First of all, come hungry or prepared to lug two pounds of burrito home with you as leftovers (and you will definitely want to take any leftovers you have!). The portions here are INSANE! The burrito I received was the size of a whole freaking loaf of bread. In it, my burrito had deliciously smoked brisket and house made Mac & Cheese with hatch green chilies. I ordered mine with The Works, which included two types of salsas and a slaw. Neither salsa added any noticeable heat (probably because the vast quantity of food it was competing against, including the sweetness of the slaw), but absolutely provided some necessary moisture. It was incredible.
We also ordered pork queso nachos, which were entirely unnecessary given the size of the burritos but delicious nonetheless. The slaw made these a messy affair, but you don't come here to practice fine dining etiquette. Most of these were taken home as leftovers (probably to be made into a freaking awesome chilaquiles if I am ever not full again.)
The staff was super friendly and the place had fun decorations. In the small kitchen, I found just one person pumping out an insane amount of delicious food in a timely manner. She rocked it. Go...
Read moreUpdate: this is not my first review. I mentioned previously that this is a 5 star place to eat and I recommend their chicken nachos as it is a fan favorite. However they NEVER have chicken. 6 out of 9 times I’ve gone there they haven’t had chicken. Their response to this was that they bought a second smoker dedicated to chicken and I got my hopes up as the next time they had chicken. Unfortunately since then it’s been an 0-2 and they were not “busy days” and not even during their lunch rush.I must not be the only person that has had similar experiences as the two people in front of me, my party, and the two people behind us in line just walked out when they said they were out of chicken. We used to stay and just get something else but at a certain point you have to call it what it is. I wish them luck but I don’t plan on wasting my time going there again as they can’t keep their most popular meat option on the menu. If I do go again I will be calling ahead.
