Cute little coffee shop. Super not impressed by the barista. The shop was empty and I asked first about alternative milks to which she answered and pointed to their menu board. They do have several alternatives for an upcharge. Then I asked about the chai to see if it was vegan. Remember it is just the barista and I in the shop at this time. She acted like she couldn't be bothered and actually said I can't tell you anything about what is or isn't vegan. Now child all you have to do is look on the product or offer it to me to look at. Not friendly or helpful at all. No wonder it was empty. I really wanted to like them because I would rather support a small business rather than the big conglomerates. Online, Grounded posts that it closes at noon on Saturdays. My friend and I arrived at 11:15. The sign was flipped to closed, but we saw people inside and the door was open. I think they were friends or family hoping for the single employee there to get off work. Said employee was clearly annoyed we arrived but begrudgingly said she would still help us even though she planned to close early since it was slow. I asked if she had coffee flights. Yes, they do. However, she claimed we arrived too late as they stop serving them at 11:30. By this time it was 11:17. Since we were so unwelcome and she made us feel like a tremendous burden, we left. The dark French roast coffee is one of the best coffees I've had, at least when brewing it home! One comment I have about their register when I pay with a credit card and then the tip suggestions come in they start at 15% and go up. I go in there to buy coffee to take home. There's no way I'm going to pay an extra 15 or 25% surcharge for retail purchase! I would gladly tip a dollar for the good and friendly service, especially when having a cup of coffee...
