Proper Provisions — Restaurant in Lincolnton

A friend and I were SO ecstatic to have found a new spot in Lincolnton with a private chef that had experience and fresh food. Upon walking in, no one greeted, and of the four employees working, every single one was rude. We came in prepared to purchase loads of pasta, meal preps, lunch for the day and anything else exciting they offered to support a local new business. Neither of us have had an experience this disheartening. When ordering a sandwich and asking for meat added, having the chef huff and roll his eyes stating I guess so. Additionally when asking about Gluten Free options instead of stating he couldn’t guarantee this, his comment was smart stating “the salads, hard to have gluten free when I make fresh pasta”. With severe gluten allergies, she will ask everywhere before ordering EVEN PIZZA which ensures no cross contamination and clean environments. We immediately went from excited to straight disappointment, neither of us wanting to spend our money anymore. It is perfectly fine to NOT have gluten free options, the response when asked was not warranted at all. My husband and I got lunch during their soft opening last week. First, the portions were so big that we were shocked. The bread on the sandwich was the best bread we have ever eaten. You can certainly tell that everything is made from scratch. This place is such a breath of fresh air here in Lincolnton! Second, the chicken salad was amazing! I can’t wait to try the pimento cheese. Finally, the staff was so personable and welcoming. From the minute we walked in the door, we were welcomed with smiles and the staff was so helpful with our questions to make our decisions on what to order easier. We absolutely can’t wait to go back and try all the homemade pasta and sauces. To have a place like this, so close to home, that offers made from scratch meals is so convenient. We came in for the “Best Club Sandwich in Lincolnton”, as purported on Google. The menu rotates and the club was no longer available… but the delightful and helpful woman working the counter recommended the “Wise Guy”. This marvel was a taste explosion for the mouth. It came in homemade bread and was thick with meat and cheese, topped with arugula and roasted peppers. The homemade pesto was a great touch.
