Roys Fish Linden — Restaurant in Linden

Well...I visited for the 1st time today. When walking in (shortly after opening) I was received very nonchalantly and with no enthusiasm...almost like I was interrupting something! This alone made me consider just walking out - because I don't tolerate this type of reception when I'm patronizing a business...but because the young ladies looked like me, I decided to look past this.

I reviewed the menu and ordered a combo meal. The wait was not too long. With the 4-pc shrimp; 4-pc whiting and fries I received ONE tartar and ONE hot sauce; asked for more and was told I would have to pay. Really?!?!? I passed on that.

The food was really hot, which was great!! The shrimp was nice and flavorful! Plenty of fries (although I'm not a big fan of fries). The Whiting? Very hot but UNSEASONED!!! This was so disappointing! I've seen other reviews that discussed flavorful whiting, but unfortunately this was NOT my experience.

Will I go again? With hesitancy I probably will...a bit later in their business day where thry may season the fish better - and I'll hope that the young lady who took my order isn't there...or if she is, perhaps she will be in a pleasant, customer-friendly, Chick-fil-A type of...

I always want to support our people and give them a chance, but this is one of the reasons why we cannot get to where we need to be in society. for one the first time I went there. I got a two-piece Whitey and six jumbo fried shrimp. The shrimp were good. The two piece Whitey was smallest pieces of fish I have ever seen . Didn’t realize it until I got home was not happy at all they were hollow and not season at all. . I’ve said I would take another chance and see what happens. Customer service was really good. I ordered the six piece jumbo shrimp again as well as two piece catfish again the catfish was not seasoned at all and they took one piece of catfish and cut it in half to make too. I paid $12 For two pieces of fish and french fries, that’s was not what I was expecting two pieces of fish with french fries. I sent my husband to pick it up never again that is just horrible I feel very taken advantage of. So yes, Roy’s Fish is...

Ok where do I start?! 🤔 Let me set the scene for you… 30 hungry bikers pull up on a Sunday afternoon and bombard this establishment with orders back to back to back. Along with their usual Sunday crowd of churchgoer families and a few people trying grab food on their lunch break. (We apologize to you all lol) Ok so can you see the madness?!?! Good! Now let me tell you this, the server Shan (I believe her name was) DIDN’T MISS A BEAT!!! I SWEAR SHE DIDN’T FLINCH or even break a sweat! She was amazing. Just kind, full of smiles and knocked out the 40+ orders. JEEZ… I didn’t even get to the food yet… So I ordered one of the special meals; 4 whiting, 4 shrimp, max n cheese, and candied yams. HUGE MISTAKE!! The food was AMAZING!!! Like altogether it was perfect!!! I said huge mistake because I was so full I just wanted to go to sleep and forgot I still had to ride a 1000lb motorcycle around with these maniacs I...
