I love this restaurant. If I lived next to it, I would never go home. Good thing I live several miles away.
The hardest thing about ordering from APOL is deciding what to get. The double-decker pizzas are terrific, and they keep me fed for days. Sure, I suppose I could order a smaller pizza, but, um, why? That said, the stuffed, pan and thin-crust pizzas are equally delicious. I did learn recently, however, that thin-crust is probably the way to go when ordering pizza at lunchtime for meetings at the office. It was nap time for this reviewer (and his department) after downing a great big pan pizza.
You know what else is awesome, and a great value? The lunch special where you get two huge pieces of pizza and a drink. And, while I don’t do Facebook, I know every day they post the name of the day on their Facebook page. If they pick your name, you get the lunch special for free. Lucky for me, someone told me when my name got picked one day. The sandwiches and salads are a great bet, too. While my favorite food in the world is and always will be pizza, I enjoy these parts of the menu from time to time.
They have onion rings, too. I love onion rings. I would walk uphill (both ways) in a blizzard to get onion rings. Yeah, I adore onion rings, too. I wonder how they would taste on a pizza...
Couple more things before I let you go. I really like the aquarium. It's like TV with no reruns, and it's kept really clean. Nice job on the fish tank, boys and girls.
Then there's the employees. I came from the restaurant business. I know how tough it is to…motivate...youngsters to smile, hustle, engage with customers and genuinely enjoy what they're doing. These kids do all of that. That's the sort of thing that flows from ownership to every employee. So, Susan and Chris deserve tons of credit for creating this culture in their restaurant, and bringing out these behaviors in their people.
Thank you, Antioch Pizza of...
Read moreHow disappointing this place has been since the change in ownership. We used to be weekly customers, but have definitely cut back. Tonight was the straw that broke the camel’s back that has made us decide not to be customers anymore. We had been out at a soccer tournament all day and wanted to just grab a quick and easy dinner on the way home with our tired and cranky kids. We placed an order online and paid, but upon arrival, they had lost our order and it wasn’t ready. They said they could have it ready in 15 minutes and offered to bring it to our house for us. We accepted that offer since we had sweaty kids that needed to shower. More than 45 minutes later, and the pizza had not yet arrived at our house. I tried to call to check the status, but the phones had been shut off because they were closed. Since I couldn’t get ahold of anyone, my kids were exhausted and hungry and needed to get to bed because they have early games again in the morning, I assumed that since it was well past the 15 minute cook time plus 5 minute drive to our house and we weren’t getting our pizza, and I went out to grab Wendy’s and deal with the problem tomorrow. Well of course, I had just finished placing my order at Wendy’s when the pizza arrived. So now we have paid for double the amount of dinner that we need and are wasting a LOT of food. What a terrible experience! We have tried to give the new owners a chance to find their footing, but this is unacceptable and we will not continue to be customers at this location. ...
Read moreI recently visited the Lindenhurst location and tried to order two slices of the stuffed pepperoni but the person behind the register informed me that they would have to make a brand new one and it would take about 25 minutes. I fail to understand how you think it's reasonable to expect customers to wait 25 minutes for two slices of pizza! There were even two or three slices already in the glass box so I don't get what was wrong with those. With prices going through the roof I don't think its a very good idea to also have PAYING customers wait 25 minutes for something that should only take less than 5. I think its common sense to start making a new pizza when you see a specific flavor running low. I am extremely disappointed and feel like never returning returning since Im paying more and waiting longer! I don't think its great customer service to not be thinking ahead so you don't lose paying...
