So my other half and I were looking for a new place to go eat because we’re both foodies and variety is the spice of life. So we looked for a place somewhat far from home so we could enjoy a nice evening ride to and from the place we choose. So we looked at the menu, and some of the ratings and decided to give this place a try. The fact that it has a rooftop made us want to give it a try even more.
So we walked in, it wasn’t busy down stairs but it was pretty on the rooftop. So a young lady greeted us and asked us where we would like to sit and took us to our table. Our server who didn’t give us her name asked us what we wanted for drinks so we gave her our drink order and also ordered the chicken lettuce wraps for an appetizer. The chicken lettuce wraps weren’t anything special, I also didn’t care for the water chestnuts in it.
Our food arrived to our table I ordered the pan fried Walleye, with garlic butter broccoli and tater tots. My server asked about the broccoli and they said it was already on my order and if I wanted another side. So I chose tater tots and when it came out there was no broccoli. They were going to make it since the cooks forgot to include it, however I told them after almost being finished eating my walleye it didn’t make since to eat the broccoli alone.
Also the walleye tasted like it was cooked in old oil, I didn’t like it much at all. Had it not been for the basil pesto aioli I wouldn’t have been able to stomach the walleye. A manager came to ask how everything was and I told her how I felt about the walleye and that it had a taste of being cooked in old grease and she said that’s not good I’m going to go back and look into this. Well the manager never returned nor did they offer us a discount or let us know their findings. Lastly my girl order the 3 alarm burger and didn’t care much for it, she said it had a taste of being cooked too long.
Now the decor was nice, the bathroom was clean, and I loved the way the bar was set up with the televisions all around the bar. I loved the place and the server but the fact that management didn’t try to rectify the situation so for that I will not...
Read more2nd time coming, most likely my last. First time came for dinner, got the mother clucker sandwich. A lot of breading and not a ton of chicken. Good heat to it; however it came out barely warm like it had been sitting awhile. Waited over 30 minutes after ordering food before the appetizer came out (Whiskey Glazed Wontons) - these were absolutely amazing! However the wait for the actual food left much to be desired. Drinks are measured, so they do often taste pretty watered down when compared to any other bar/restaurant. The lighting was very dim, almost too dim making it hard to read menu and get a good idea of what the food looked like. Second time came for lunch, seated right away. Ordered Ghost Pepper Cheese Curds for an appetizer and they definitely have a strong kick to them, be forwarded. Exactly what I was hoping for, hard to find legitimate ghost pepper curds that actually have heat. Ordered the Blackberry BBQ Boneless Wings, these took quite a while to come out and in fact only one order came out right away, while the other 3 came out about 15 minutes later. The wings came out lukewarm, are mostly breading and extremely skinny, not much meat. Should have learned that from the other chicken sandwich. The BBQ flavor was nothing special. Tried the fish tacos and was disappointed, they had very little flavor. Not sure of its because the extremely large chunks of avocado they put on or what the reason, but not good. With how long this place took to open, the long training that took place, the cost of the food and the quality of the other related locations in this chain, I don't think I'll be back to Lino Lakes location. Definitely a huge let down, hopefully they can get their stuff together before the newness of the location wears off and more...
Read moreAbsolutely no complaints. Almost. Well, no legitimate complaints that will keep us away and should not scare anyone else away.
I'll start with a big complaint I see in other reviews. The "hidden" 3% fee/cash discount. Menu prices reflect cash prices with a 3% upcharge if not paying with cash. No, they don't verbally disclose this. Yes, this could be a little more prominently communicated; but it is very easy to find at the bottom of the menu. We had no issues with this. We've had far worse experiences with truly hidden fees at other places. Nothing hidden or secretive about it. I digress.
Ordered the Cons Chicken tacos and the Southwest Turkey Burger & house fries. The tacos don't come in those fancy taco holders like you see in the picture but they are delicious nonetheless. The corn tortillas are a little small but that's only in proportion to the enormous amount of food piled on each tortilla. Turkey burger was good, with your typical turkey burger texture. Had a nice kick to it but it seemed like it is maybe TOO seasoned? Couldn't quite place my finger on it but the flavours were a little overwhelming by the last couple bites. Probably wouldn't order this again but if you're into the non-red-meat thing, this would be a good option.
The fries were incredible. Fries are so hit or miss at nearly every restaurant. Too cold? Gross. Luke warm? Barely edible. No seasoning? Bleh. Undercooked? Gag. THESE fries met all the criteria for being amazing.
The acoustics leave a little be desired but the place was also slammed on a Friday night so you can only control volume so much.
Excellent service. Massive tap list.
All the food looks incredible. Will...
