The food and drinks are overpriced and underwhelming. $14.00 for a hamburger - without french fries - is a bit laughable, considering the hamburgers were good but not great. Likewise, the nachos were good, but very expensive.

The staff at the back bar is very friendly and attentive.

However, the host at the front of the restaurant made my group feel unwelcome and unwanted. Although the front restaurant was empty and remained largely empty during our visit, we were asked to sit at the bar in the back of the restaurant because we didn't have reservations. The front dining area did not fill during our 1.5 hour stay, and I saw no reason why were asked to dine in the back of the restaurant.

Part of the low reason for my score is that I did not appreciate the unwelcome pressing by the front area hostess for us to get away from the dining room. Her repeated attempts to push us toward the back of the restaurant made little sense given the lack of patrons in the front area, which, as I've noted, did not improve throughout the night. Either she was too young and inexperienced to accurately gauge the upcoming crowd and the restaurant's ability to handle non-reserved guests (which reflects poorly on the managerial abilities of the @ the Corner staff by allowing someone so inexperienced and unfriendly to welcome guests), or maybe she didn't like the look of my group - too young with a mixed-race same-sex couple in addition to myself and my wife.

I can't say for certain why we were pushed to the back - likely the inexperience of the hostess - but, either way, I felt unwelcome and unwanted when I believe my money's as good as anybody's.

In sum, the food is good, but not great. The prices are head-shakingly high. And, while the bar staff is great, the staff at the dining room is unwelcoming. I would recommend taking your...

To be fair they're probably more of a three and a half star verse a three star today, but they definitely didn't come across as a four star. @the Corner had three physical sections to it. Front is coffee shop style, mid section is set up for dinning with a raised platform section by the windows that is very nice. The third section is full size bar with additional tables along the wall. We arrived just before the lunch crowd really hit and it seemed they were short staffed. Which impacted all of our service. My friend loved her the strawberry salad with chicken and she thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail. Being the driver I could not have a cocktail. The menu for cocktails was twice the size of the menu for lunch. I ordered the cowboy burger medium and sweet taters. The burgers only come with pickles so you need to buy sides separate. They cooked the burger to perfection. It was exactly how medium done should be. But it lacked flavor. The barbecue sauce that comes on the cowboy helped, but the hamburger itself was flavorless. The sweet tater tots were some of the best tater tots I ever had though. 5 stars to the sweet tots. They are served in an iron skillet piping hot with a side sauce for dipping. I had coffee with my meal and they only had medium and light roast coffee to choose from. Being a dark roast person the coffee was going to be marginal for me at best. It seems strange to me that they wouldn't have dark roast so perhaps they were just temporarily out. Also, when we walked in they asked if we had reservations, we did not. So not a home run lunch for me. And really they're probably more like a three and a half star today than three. Everyone has an off day, so I will be back to...

My husband and I decided to go out for a cocktail and a bite to eat. Haven’t been to @the corner in a bit but follow their page on social media. Walked in and sat at the bar. No warm welcome. Some menus placed in front of us and the bartender walked away. No smile, no introduction. Red flag from the start. Not overly enthused with the cocktail menu, so I asked if they had a spicy tequila. She said they did. Asked if I could request a drink with a small amount of muddled cucumber. The bartender was annoyed and informed me that she had nothing and would have to get the stuff from the kitchen. I responded ok and she walked away. Came back 6-7 minutes later, meanwhile the bar was not busy. (It’s Memorial Day weekend) Asked if had decided and I said I was still thinking. Came back another 6-7 minutes later and this time I asked if she could make the drink and bring me a small plate of cucumbers. I would’ve muddled them myself. Again, I was given an annoyed response that she would have to get it from the kitchen. At that point, we paid for my husband’s beer and left. Went to another restaurant a down the road and had a wonderful experience- and got my very simple drink. As someone who works part time as a server in a very accommodating and wonderful restaurant in Litchfield county, this is exactly what we don’t expect. One of our topics in pre-meal last night was what makes a restaurant successful- the answer: knowing the guest walked out that door happy. Sadly, won’t be returning. The staff could use some tips on...

We came for an early dinner, 5:00 on a Tuesday. I ordered grilled chicken Caesar salad ($22) and my husband had scallops risotto ($32). We chose a window seat and the table was set with a glass on a paper napkin, cloth napkin with the silverware wrapped inside, and small plates. I went to move the glass on the paper napkin and it was stuck to the table from food that was left before me. My salad was pretty good but there were several pieces of the ends of the Parmesan wheel that was tough to chew and it was extremely garlicky. I noticed the table next to us had bread on it. When I was finally able to get the waitresses attention, I asked for bread and butter. She said it would take a minute because it had to be heated. No problem. It took several minutes and was so toasted that it was brittle. When the check comes, we see that they charged us $2 for the three slices of bread that literally scraped the roof of my mouth. Husband enjoyed the risotto, but there were only 3 (good sized) scallops. One of the desserts we got was the cannoli. Unfortunately they filled them earlier today because the cannoli shell was soggy. The chocolate raspberry tart was very good and the ginger cookie was very good. The location and price for these dinners deserves better service and cleaner/nicer tables (tables need refinishing). We had an older waitress who was loud and spoke to the customers like she was doing them a favor, not as if she were there to serve.

Great spot we decided to try while in Litchfield. We enjoyed two sandwiches, "The Pilgrim" with a crispy buttermilk fried chicken thigh on a brioche bun, and the "Apple Butter Cubano" with three hams including Serrano, swiss cheese, pickles and dijonaisse on pressed bread. The fried chicken sandwich was a meal. The ham sandwich seemed to only have a yellow mustard on the bread. I could not detect any mayo which would have been welcome. The garlic parmesan wings were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside and a decent size. The standout dish was the butternut squash ravioli appetizer we shared. Sublime. The epitome of autumn in terms of its flavors, colors and ingredients. Loved the small red currants for punch and presentation. The maple sage butter gave a sweet back to finalize the perfection of the dish. Separate bar room, good sized dining area (we chose a table by a window to look at the Green) and a front area dedicated more to coffee, Harley tea and a pastry case. Service was attentive and the bartender made a good "Bee's Knees."
