So it was Sunday afternoon and I was craving a pizza and since it was my cheat day I was in luck! For anyone that does meal prep, you know when it’s time for a cheat meal it’s a serious thing. Normally I would go with someplace I’m familiar with so I won’t be let down but since I just moved here, I had to google a few places. Found Jonny’s pizza with 4.6 reviews so I placed an online order for delivery. Ordered a pepperoni and cheese with cheesy bread and the house sauce. When my pizza arrived, the box was soggy on two corners as if it was sitting in water. It also looked as if it was smashed in the middle along with my cheesy bread. I opened the box and yup, the pizza was smashed in the middle. Not only that but most of the cheese had slid over to one side. It’s as if the pizza was delivered on it side because all the sauce (grease not actual sauce) and cheese had slid over causing the box to be soggy in the corners. I had to scrap cheese off other slices and the box to give the slices that had no cheese some toppings. It also seemed to have no tomato sauce or it was VERY light, Im assuming that’s how they make it but I’ll order one with extra sauce next time. As you can tell, the pizza was visually not pleasing and tough to eat since half the crust was also soggy, I only lived 10 min from the actual restaurant, I didn’t expect it to get so soggy so fast. The cheesy bread was ok, for those who have not ordered it before m, it was cheese inside of a bread roll. I won’t order it again, I would try a different appetizer. The house sauce was delicious though! I’ll probably try ordering here again just to give it a second chance, I mean with all these great reviews I’m sure I was the 1 in 100 that received a bad experience.

As a proud New Yorker, I do not claim this pizzeria. I was excited to try it and chose to ignore the negative reviews, thinking I’d give it a fair shot myself but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. I ordered a half mushroom pizza and the other half with chicken, pineapple, and black olives. The order was completely wrong (see attached photo). They clearly don’t understand what “half and half” means pineapple was spread across the entire pie! From the moment I walked in, I sensed something was off. Two staff members were working, both looking visibly unhappy. No one greeted me or the customer behind me. As I waited, I saw one of the workers handling chicken with her bare hands, dipping it into sauce. When she noticed me watching, she suddenly switched to using tongs. It felt very unhygienic. The other employee said nothing to me when I gave my name for pick-up. She silently scanned the pizza, I paid, and left , not a single word exchanged. On top of that, the floor was filthy (see attached photo). Sadly, I got food poisoning after eating the pizza. The dough was undercooked, the tomato sauce was uneven and tasted like raw paste, and the chicken had a strange plastic-like texture. This is a disgrace to pizza, especially to anything claiming to be “New York style.” As a New Yorker, I absolutely do not claim this place. I can’t wait to get back to NYC next week and enjoy the real thing.

Jonny's has been open for some time now (I think over a year) in my neighborhood. I was a little shocked by there prices, but hey, good food cost money so I splurged today. The pizza looked good, but at $23 for a large, I felt they went way light on the toppings, especially the cheese. The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was very basic, definitely better than Pizza Hut's alfredo, but not by enough; my guess is that it was a cream sauce instead of cheese sauce. The Cheese Sticks were a disappointment; they weren't golden brown, more of a light yellow and the cheese wasn't completely melted. I also got 1/2 garlic knots that I haven't tried, not only was I full at this point, but they didn't give me the 3 garlic knots that were supposed to come with the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, so I figured it'd be more of the same experience at that point. I got 6 knot 9 (lol). The restraunt itself looked immaculate and the workers were super friendly. My conclusion is that it's overpriced for the same, or less satisfying, italian food that I could get elsewhere. I know taking food To-Go can have an impact on the quality, but it took me less than 3 minutes to get home, so I'm not going to give much reprieve on that side of the experience. I'll probably try it again when traffic is bad, but only out of convenience.

Place started out pretty good over a year ago, then i used to stop by twice a week, then the food started getting increasingly bad. and the staff was always different. the prices change depending on who is running the register. usually charging MORE for same item then back down with a different register. latley. in the past couple months, I noticed the pizza didn't look the same , dough different, and toppings degraded and somehow removed any flavor. totally devoid of flavor, then the ONE employee working was there with the TV's blazing so loud you can't even hear them behind the counter, refused to turn it down as their non english family sat in the only occupied booth ate a sample of every dish they had, and the under 21 "server/food heater upper" did not know how to even place a slice into the oven or recognize if it was even cooked properly. I took it and attempted to eat 2 slices at home. HAD ZERO flavor. I couldn't tell what it was, other than warmish crust , with no flavor I couldn't eat it it was just really horrible and too bad this place has seen so much turnover and now clear to me they have been sold and not an option anymore. I saw an indian guy talking to someone in broken english claiming to be the new owner and committed to top quality. ( top quality in india is anything they didn't get from the trash directly-nothing more nothing less) usual crew was no longer there... replaced by One girl with zero experience. maybe an ex little Ceasars employee at best. hispanic, not familiar with Italian food . The crust was a give away, changes were in place. It was folded at the end to fit the pizza pan which is only how the cheap pizza places make the crust, WITH a slight hint of tomato sauce with no flavor was painted on by a brush and virtually non-existent. I am done with this "used to be" Jonnys Pizza. THIS PLACE IS NO LONGER ITALIAN FOOD- IT IS INDIAN VERSION OF SOME OTHER FOOD. Save your money. It DIED. Not worth half the price or taste like food anymore . GO TO THE chicken place . THERES 50 OF THEM NEARBY THAT KINDA TASTE LIKE CHICKEN! They figured out how to remove any resemblance of...

Our family has been eating at Jonnys since they opened. In the beginning, it was great, but as the years passed, it just kept going downhill! Tonight made me finally write a review. My mother ordered spaghetti... No meat sauce. When the bowl came out, we were shocked! I straight up asked where the rest of the spaghetti was. We were told the portion sizes went down. The price hasn't gone down, but they are serving less. When I say it was a "super small lunch" portion size, at dinner... I'm not even close to kidding! Here is all I could think if they are trying to cut corners and cut cost, I understand. But on spaghetti noodles??? Could there be anything "less" expensive to serve. She even ordered easy on the sauce. Noodles are one part of a dish you can serve more, make customers think they are getting what they paid you for, and still super cheap ingredient! So IF they are so cheap they have to cut the cheapest ingredients like noodles... all I can think is what else they are cutting corners on? I used to order their lasagna all the time, I stopped ordering that because it now has almost no noodles in it. It started thick and great, now it's so thin and no noodles. Tonight, the young lady offered to get my mom more noodles, which was kind. But the cook gave us the dirtiest look 2 times! Totally rude! It was so obvious I almost considered flipping him off. Then, to top it off, both of us barely made it home without being sick to our stomach. Which screams to me they are cutting other corners to save money. I don't know how, but it happened. Their food has changed a lot and not for the better. We used to eat their a couple of times a week. Then we stopped completely going, and we thought we would try it again a few months ago we started coming back, not any more. We are done! I wanted nothing but success for Jonny, but things changed when he started opening other locations. When you stopped seeing him in that restaurant, that's when it went downhill. When he was there to babysit, you always had great food and service... not any more! It's sad...

I’m so disappointed. I really loved this place. But given the food quality the past couple of visits & now the complete and utter disregard for any kind of Covid-19 safety measures - I’m not going back. Here’s my reasoning for 2 stars based on my experience Thursday, July 2, 2020: Food was not ready when I went to go pick it up - in fact it was just started when I walked in at the pick up time. ((All I wanted to do was grab two pre-ordered, pre-paid for slices and go after a long day.)) I only ordered 2 slices of supreme pizza hoping it was part of a pre-made pie like shops in NYC & others do instead of just piling on a bunch of fried toppings onto a cold cheese pizza slice. Unfortunately for my stomach it was the latter. Due to the manner in which it was made, it came out super greasy. I only was able to eat half a slice and threw the rest away. Now for the part that really made me nervous - the restaurant was at least at 75% capacity of folks sitting down dining - I say this because there were only a couple tables left & they were all close together. Then we had the line of people from the register to the door. Only 1 person behind the counter of the approximately 5 I saw had on a mask, but it was below his nose. Only 1 person (not the guy w the mask) had on gloves. And the hostess checking people out and bringing people their food (who was also doubling as bartender) had no mask and only one glove. People were just streaming in like it was 2019 very few w masks, no social distancing, and I was the one getting dirty looks because I kept moving away from people.

Going to end on this note - I really hesitated to write this because I know reviews can have an impact. However, as someone who has been out of work since March due to this awful virus, it’s important we all pull together and do our part to help keep eachother safe. What I saw this evening I’m pretty sure doesn’t even qualify as a healthy environment in a normal year...
