We had high hopes when we made reservations for Loca Luna for my sister's graduation brunch. Everything was good at first, we received our drinks quickly and the waitress was very attentive. After placing our food order, 1 hour went by and we were still waiting on our food. The waitress came to tell us that there had been a mistake with the printers and our food would be out shortly. I understand, these things do happen. Though, the tables around us that entered after us continued to get their food first. There was a table adjacent to us who also was experiencing the same issue, and a person who I thought was the manager was being very attentive to them, and was constantly checking in. Another hour goes by, with a few more promises that our meal will be next. By this time, we are light headed and so drained by the exhaustion of this process. We were told that our food would be coming out next, and then the other table that had been waiting received their food. This was incredibly frustrating, and finally 2 hours later, we received our food. Somehow, it was all cold. It definitely felt as if it was sitting on the counter for a long while, and my poor Mom couldn't even eat her pancakes, as they were tough and chewy. I asked to speak to the manager, who I assumed was the individual I had seen checking in with tables, but they then stated they had to go retrieve management. Out came a person I could only assume was sitting in an office somewhere. I tried to explain to the manager the situation ( they were tall with long, straight red/blonde hair ) , only to learn that they had been aware and offered no apology for the situation, only came at me with a defensive and stand offish tone. I asked if we could please be compensated in some way, and they refused to look me in the eye and walked out of the conversation while mumbling, "we'll comp 50% of your bill." This is what we received, but honestly, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had, and there should have been more attempts to rectify the horrid amount of time wasted. It was Saturday brunch, and I have worked as a waitress in that nonsense time myself, but there is a certain way that business should be handled, and if there is animosity between kitchen/mgmt/and wait staff, that should never reflect over to the customer facing side. It was a truly disappointing experience and we will not be returning. I would suggest finding your mimosas elsewhere.
High Hopes Fall Flat
My girlfriend and I stopped into Loca Luna yesterday (6/30/2018) right at opening. Neither one of us had been here before, but its well reviewed and comes recommended by friends.
Unfortunately our entire experience was pretty crappy. The top shelf ultimate margarita was not very good. Places like Chuy’s are significantly better if margaritas are on your mind. The menu advertises craft beer, but the beer list is limited. Flyway Bluewing was the only thing on tap with flavor. However, if you’re a Beyoncé fan, they do have Yamazaki available for you to try.
We ordered the combo cheese and salsa dip with chips. The cheese dip was good, with a nice spice appropriate for an appetizer. The salsa had an odd sweetness that you wouldn’t expect from a salsa and had zero spice but interesting flavor.
I ordered the voodoo stew and my girlfriend ordered the bison meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and saffron rice. Despite being advertised as a spicy Jamaican broth the voodoo stew was completely bland. The cheese dip appetizer had more spice and more flavor than the stew. The Jambalaya soup from Campbells is better. My girlfriend’s meal was worse. The mashed potatoes and saffron rice were absolutely cold and nearly inedible, the meatloaf was warm (but not hot, or fresh) and bland. The mushroom-wine sauce was extremely thick (likely due to temperature) and overly sweet.
We paid and left most of the food on the table. There was a large party beyond the door next to us (patio? party room?) that three trays of food went out to before ours came out. I wonder we just ordered at the wrong time and got stuck at the back of the food delivery queue. That would explain the cold food.
If we were to make the trip back to Little Rock and come back to Loca Luna we would skip the salsa and chips and try either something else or the chicharrones & cheese dip for an appetizer. I would try the pizza or calzone instead of eating any of the other food. Two dishes with muted flavors scare me from trying anything similar to what we had. The environment is neat, and the...

Something serious has to change at this venue.
Tonight we dined on our third or 4th edition of 'second chances' after writing this restaurant off.
We dined at a peak time 6:00 and 7:00 pm, and there were only four tables in the restaurant. All four tables were put on top of each other in one small area with a whole of the restauraunt empty.
Service was incredibly slow, The first step of service, completed after 20 minutes of delay with the first soft drink delivered.
The water glasses had cheese and other food debris stuck on the inside and outside.
No modifications or request were honored, the entrees were delivered incorrectly and the server not only did not acknowledge but brushed us off when we brought it to his attention.
The lettuce on the sandwich was brown, yellow and slimy, even having an odor. When brought to the server's attention, didn't even apologize.
The chicken on the chicken sandwich had about the same portion of chicken as two credit cards stacked on top of each other, in fairness it was mostly just breaded skin and still managed to be too chewy to enjoy.
The salad advertised locally grown lettuces, but instead presented as dried, out of date, common romaine mix, complete with shredded carrots and cabbage in a familiar proportion.
With only four tables in the restaurant, you'd anticipate the service and refills would have been quick, but you would be mistaken.
Upon dropping the check, the server forced a handshake with each guest that was wildly uncomfortable and awkward.
Despite having a kind demeanor, the server put zero effort into acknowledgement or recovery of any of the issues, when presented.
The floors were sticky and the booths not wiped out....the music was high tempo and obtuse, it was a complete disruption to any ambience the decor and lighting hoped to accomplish.
Would have given another chance if any member of the team gave an iota of care to our experience.
Hope it gets better for...
