What the hell happened? Town Pump at one time was a beloved and favored dive bar, but something has seriously changed. The standard bar style pool tables? Gone. In their place are tables, tables, and more tables with a 20yr old pinball machine that costs $1 to play with a broken right flipper. Our staple order there before the 'reorg' was their cheese dip n chips and wings with a couple beers and shots of Jamesons to start the fun off with. The cheese dip gets you ruffles potato chips or Fritos scoops...no tortilla chips anymore. The Jamesons was good, but at $10 a shot, we could have bought our own 720 and headed home...this is not high-end whiskey folks. Ordered Blue Moon which came in a can. We had to ask for a glass, and then ask for the orange slice....Huh?!?! TP was notorious for it's wings before with Wings Wednesdays being a treat many came to enjoy. The wings we had were...wet?? Not sure exactly how to describe them...but they're definitely not crispy, definitely not fried and definitely not a high point on the menu as they once were. I pretty much gave up when we asked for some wet-naps and was told they dont have those anymore. I think the straw that broke the camel's back was seeing a Lord of the Rings pinball machine that was 20+yrs old charging a full $1 to play like it was the newer high-def pinball machines there are out there now. All in all, two shots of Jamesons, two Blue Moons, the cheese dip and 10 wings put us north of $70 including tip. You know it's not the same when the 'regulars' that once were there are no longer there and instead of your typical crowd, you have toddlers, newborns and families in a "dive bar". The place is just another restaurant which is fine for those who didn't know what it lost.
To be sure, we wont be back...there are better places that don't pretend to be something...
Read moreBRAD IS THE WORST BARTENDER!!! Not posting this because I believe the owner will even care… (surprise- she doesn’t) I have been coming here for six plus years under many different management styles, but this one- AWFUL. I have never been treated so awful, and with no reason to be. Brad has been here for about a year (he dipped out when pump needed him most during Covid- surprise). Tonight, I had given a card as requested for a tab with the intention to pay with cash- not that anyone ever asked for that information. He proceeded to run my tab after NOT CHECKING TO SEE IF I WAS STILL ON THE PREMISES and it was declined. Mind you, I was paying and tipping in cash. I was contacted by other employees off duty, who Brad contacted without checking to see if I had been on the premises, telling these kind people I ran out on my tab while I was literally sitting on the back patio. I have done my best to withstand Brad’s awful disposition on others, but I have had it. I warn the lot to avoid this bar if Brad is behind the bar. Either way, I am done- this bar has gone so far down the hill. It is laughable. If he is the only one behind the bar, I will not be spending my money or bringing my clients there. Doubt the owner will ever listen to this, she seems to believe he is a golden child- honestly, this bar would thrive without him. I respectfully request the owner take the MANY complaints against...
Read moreMake sure you look at the dates of The past reviews. Those were from previous Ownerships. Well, the pump opened up under new ownership. I ordered the dirty bird chicken wings, and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. We had the first food that came out. Wings were cold and did not have much sauce on them. Ordered more sauce cost me a dollar for a little cup. We asked about the wings and they said they are smoked now so I’m guessing they sit back there under a heat lamp. Probably the reason they were very dry and I had to order more sauce. I was hoping that when I dipped it in the ranch it would help but none of the ranch stuck on my wing. I’ve seen water that was thicker. Was looking forward to the old bacon cheeseburger, the Pump used to serve. This cheeseburger is nothing like the old one. The size of the patty is what you get at a little league baseball game. It was also overcook and dry and cold. Wondering if that was under a heat lamp also. They do not have Bud Light or Coors light! PBR’s are five dollars! Pitcher of beer is $25! No beer buckets! Looks like a dive bar doesn’t taste or drink like one!!!! So I spent $28 and tipped 20%. So I ended up spending just under $35. I can go to the Faded Rose or Brave New for...
