Since the 2015, Mylo's is my go-to "office" whenever I'm in Little Rock and it was one of the highlights of my trip. The welcoming staff, great coffee, a fast and reliable internet connection, and, most-importantly for me - as a gluten intolerant person - the mochi donuts.
Now, fast forward to 2021, 2022, 2023 and Mylo's under Muggs ownership. I regularly visit Mylo's while I'm in town, yearning for a mochi donuts but most importantly a fast, stable, and reliable internet connection to do basic work. And sadly, I'm forced to leave within minutes every time. Before, where I could easy eat two, maybe even a 3rd mochi donuts, now I struggle to finish half of one due to being overly saturated with richness (oil, butter, grease). Not to mention, in my personal preference, the quality of the coffee is subpar to Mylo's OG house-roasted beans.
However, it is the unreliable, snail-paced internet speed that makes me pack up and leave. This remains consistent if there are 4 people on laptops or 15. My bandwidth demands are low-to-average. I cannot load a Google Document to write or edit.
Lastly, and this is something I've noticed at each Muggs location, the staff constancy seems overwhelm, disorganized and sometimes just bothered simple asks, like today, a knife to spread cream cheese on my bagel.
I disclaim my review with: I tried Muggs coffee a few times before its take over of Mylo's and left underwhelmed each time. I loath the major mainstream national coffee chain with a passion and go out of my way to support local businesses, but am left with no choice during my visits to...
Read moreThis used to be my favorite place to come. It was owned by a couple and they had the most amazing soups, stews, pastries and placed their passion into Mylos. Over the years, I have watch ownership change and now it is the worst ever. There's no effort in being environmentally friendly anymore, aside from biodegradable straws. Togo cups are consistently used for dining in instead of glasses and mugs. The charm is gone, and many pastries that previously have been offered, are no longer. NOW, it's the worst because there's no kitchen items. I understand transition but how many times is this going to happen. The hours have been reduced. THREE times I drove across town to have breakfast and coffe at what used to be my favorite spot and all you can get are bakery items that are left (muffins, cookies, bagels). THATS IT... I used to have meetings here, not any longer. The employees are great, aside from that and the simple fact I enjoy being places I'm comfortable amd familiar, I wouldn't came at all. I'm originally from Kansas City and Mylos was the place that reminded me of home. They diversity, the inclusion, the effort to prepare amazing food locally sourced, and passion to be environmentally friendly..... All of that is gone. It's now a coffee shop, with muffins, cookies, and a couple of the old staple pastries. It's just so sad to see what was the BEST coffee shop in town, now be somewhere I have no desire to return to. Like I said, employees are great. They know me by name and remember my order... Aside from that, Mylos is no longer special like...
Read moreWow, just wow. This shop was excellent! I'm from Houston, TX and I am in Little Rock visiting family. I strolled up into this shop and was intrigued by the place and their bags of coffee for sale that are labelled with a name and flavor profile. I carefully considered each item on the menu and decided to get myself a pour over. I have been on a slight coffee kick for the past couple of months and have been trying coffee online and different methods of brewing. This place had outstanding coffee. Full of flavor and depth, I am only here for a day and a half, but I hope to go again tomorrow morning. They were very friendly and seemed very helpful to give suggestions. I hope to get to discover more about their beans and methods soon. If you are tired of the same terrible burnt coffee that you find at chain coffee shops, maybe like ones that rhyme with star and bucks...then rest assured...you are headed to the right place. No need to load your coffee with excessive amounts of cream and sugar (although you can:)) this coffee is so delicious, you not only can, but should drink it black. This is a shop that you always hoped existed but you never knew could. Don't give in to deception anymore, give in to Mylo Coffee Co....
