2025 - 2 Star Review Feeling very disappointed after leaving our dining experience at Petit & Keet tonight, as it used to be my family’s favorite restaurant and our go-to for nice occasions. Not sure if management or something changed, but tonight’s experience was a major let down. Moral of the story: it felt like a casual grill with poorly cooked food and amateur staff.

  1. We let the restaurant know that we were celebrating a special occasion far in advance, and we were seated at the table closest to the entrance. To make matters worse, the tables along the window facing the parking lot have been changed to high-tops—the seating was reminiscent of a bar and felt too casual for the main dining room. Plus, my older parents had trouble maneuvering the bar stools.
  2. Our server didn’t know what beers were on tap, so he put a worn, handwritten notecard on our table that had been scribbled with the info for my husband to decipher and order from.
  3. The brussel sprouts were previously one of my favorite dishes in Little Rock — they came out soggy and undercooked. The baked goat cheese and associated bread were also cold.
  4. The peachy keet was served in a Deep Eddy can like what is done at Cypress Social—it works given that CS is slightly more causal—instead of the formerly used slim glassware. Again, made the experience feel casual and bar-like.
  5. While I’m not sure if a dress code exists for patrons or staff, the hostesses were dressed unprofessionally and a large number of patrons wore ball caps, distressed jeans, graphic or cropped t-shirts, and sneakers. Again, the experience no longer felt reminiscent of fine dining like it previously had. Sad given how incredible the restaurant used to be. In the past, all staff were personable and professional, and patrons were in at least business casual attire.

TL;DR: The new furniture and drinkware were too casual and bar-like for the main dining room; the staff were unpersonable, unprepared, and unprofessional; the food was cold and unimpressive given the price point; and a dress code needs to be listed/enforced so the guests do not look like they're at a Chili’s instead of a finer establishment. Feeling so incredibly disappointed in the experience. We’ll have to find a new place to celebrate special occasions!

2023 - 5 Star Review My family and I dined at Petit & Keet for the first time after hearing numerous positive reviews from friends and, let me tell you, our whole experience from the service to each course exceeded every single expectation we had. Our server, Brad, was absolutely INCREDIBLE and each course came out better and better. We will 100% be coming back to Petit &...

The covenant five 🌟 stars. Rarely do I give out five stars to a restaurant because there is always room for improvement. However, Petit & Keet has earned my seal of approval. I went here on a Wednesday around 6 pm. The restaurant was not crowded but there were still people sitting out on the patio enjoying drinks and conversation. The atmosphere is great like a combination of walking into a swanky Paris restaurant combined with Manhattan type of look. There was many staff working or standing. When I mean standing, I mean attentive and not just to their tables they were working. It's extremely clean here. Even the vents above us were clean. I started with a glass of Moscato paired with the appetizer, panko avocados. The panko avocados were filled with crab meat and topped off with micro cilantro. Divine. Simply, divine. My main course I choose was the short ribs that were sous-vide and paired with butter creamed mashed potatoes. Holy smokes. I had to close my eyes. And I could sense the food by smell, taste and texture. All of it. The potatoes did not overpower the short ribs but the short ribs did overpower it's relationship to the potatoes. The meat had flavor and was tender. I can not express how hard it is to find a place that can master not only cooking the meat but pairing the flavors together that will coincide inside my mouth to make... Memories. My wife choose the BBQ shrimp with shiitake leek risotto. If you like food that has the five second spicy kick then this is for you. She loved it! You take a bite of the shrimp and about five seconds you are like, wow where did that come from. It's not like a knock out heat to where your sweating but more like an Asian zing that hits you and goes away. The risotto was absolutely great. Lastly, we shared a slice of key lime pie. If you mess up key lime pie, you do not need to have a restaurant. Their key lime pie definitely tasted like a custard homemade pie. Simple.. divine. Great job and I will...

I’ve been a loyal customer of Petit & Keet for years, always enjoying their cocktails, appetizers, and the welcoming atmosphere, especially my past interactions with Mr. Petit, the owner. However, my most recent visit for a friend’s birthday dinner left me feeling disappointed, and I feel it’s worth sharing my experience.

While my salad was perfectly fine, the real issue came with the steaks my friends ordered. They were underwhelming in flavor, and what shocked me most was the $36 upcharge to add steak to a salad, which one of my friends chose to do. We missed this detail on the menu, but even so, for such a high price, I expected a larger portion or something more impressive in quality. Instead, it was a standard 6oz portion that neither looked nor tasted worth the cost.

When I politely asked a server about this, her response came off as dismissive and annoyed, which caught me off guard. She handed me a menu in a way that felt like she was trying to end the conversation, and her demeanor made it clear that my question wasn’t welcome. While I won’t name her here, as I don’t want to cause unnecessary backlash, I do feel that her response lacked professionalism and made the situation unnecessarily uncomfortable.

I later brought up the issue with the manager, who briefly apologized and explained that the size and price were standard. While I didn’t expect the charge to be removed, I had hoped for more understanding or acknowledgment of how this could seem excessive to customers. Even just a more empathetic response would have left me feeling heard and valued.

This experience was disappointing, especially since I’ve always held Petit & Keet in such high regard. I hope this feedback helps improve the service and communication going forward, as I left feeling frustrated and undervalued for the first time in...

Fantastic experience! Great food. Great service. GREAT service (wanted to repeat that). I wish I remembered his name, but he was nice, attentive, had a positive attitude and just seemed to enjoy his work. Nothing at all to complain about (except maybe that I ate too much :D). We started with the fried avocado, topped with crab. I am not a big avocado fan (it's a texture thing I guess), but we got it because some friends recommended it to my wife. It was amazing. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it! The breading was light and crispy, the crab salad on top was flavorful (not fishy), and just a little dip in the accompanying sauce made this appetizer worth the visit by itself. I got a steak (filet), and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I usually order steaks medium rare, knowing that it will be at best "medium" temp, which I'm ok with. But this was a perfect medium rare. The asparagus was fresh and flavorful, with a nice snappy texture (not cooked to mush). The obviously from-scratch mashed potatoes were really tasty (I was nice and let my wife try them as well). My wife got a shrimp (and chicken, I think?) pasta, and it was so good. I hate shrimp and anything it touches, but I tried this and loved it. So much flavor, but not overwhelmingly rich. Just enough to mask the shrimp for me. She enjoyed it thoroughly! For dessert (got it to go... we were stuffed), we got a piece of key lime pie. Was nice and tart, creamy texture. A good crust is hard to really nail, but this one got close. Wish I'd taken more pictures, but it just looked so good I couldn't delay digging in! I guess I'll have to go back :D

My mother was in town visiting and I wanted to show her that Little Rock has some really good food. So we went to P&K since I had many good experiences there in the past. Her dish was really good (Lasagna with eggplants) but mine was very disappointing (miso salmon). The worst part was not the overcooked and burnt salmon but the comments from the Manager. He asked me what I didn’t like with the dish and I said that I was very excited when the server asked me how I liked my salmon cooked. I asked for medium but unfortunately I got a piece that was overcooked. To describe it better, I said that it weirdly had the texture of a frozen salmon. The Manager smiled at me and said that Arkansas is pretty far from the coast, that fresh fish wasn’t something available here and that yes their fish is frozen. How insulting was this comment to all the awesome restaurants in Little Rock serving delicious salmon? I’m sorry but if you think your dish isn’t fresh then don’t put it on the menu. Salmon is shipped deep frozen like many other fishes but it doesn’t mean that it can’t taste fresh. A passing server overheard the Manager’s comment and came to apologize for his comments. She said that his comments were out of place and confirmed that their miso salmon is usually very fresh and delicious. I didn’t ask for anything but the server didn’t charge me for the dish and also gave me an appetizer. I’m giving 1 star for the lasagna and 1 to our awesome server who was professional and sweet. I want to insist on the fact that I remained polite and even tipped well. Very unpleasant and weird experience though.
