Valley Village Shopping Center — Local services in Little Rock

Well, we ate for our 2nd & last time at Franke's Cafeteria. This was a central Arkansas eating institution, and it is hard to write what I must write about it. The food that they serve is so bland, cold, flavorless- by and large, that bringing home even the leftovers- didn't make them get better. At one time, Franke's set the standard for all other cafeterias to follow in the high quality of their flavor filled, hot foods. Every thing used to be seasoned to a Southern perfection! Now selections are either as tasty as a piece of cardboard, or over salty & vinegary (cucumber & tomatoes salad) to the point of being inedible! The entrées & hot veggies are cold, unless they are just out of the kitchen. The cornbread & rolls were cold and dried out. On a positive note, the banana creme pie was good. They also have a person working the dining room, who used to do the same job at Luby's in West Little Rock, before it closed last year. Her name is Nancy, she is a wonderful employee! A jewel! She is always smiling, happy to see you, checking on you to see if you need anything while you are there. You will be blessed, if Nancy waits on your table! Unfortunately, that also means that you have in front of you, several bowls of inedible, unappealing, cold food. Sorry, Franke's, we loved you 40 years ago. What the heck happened? We won't be back. Sur do miss Luby's. The food was always fresh, hot, seasoned Southern style, and we licked the plates clean! Don't know why they closed Luby's....

The team that waited on me was Awesome! I went inside to get my order. I told them I would be back, as I just started working over there. And they welcomed me back again. The young man that originally took my order was the first employee I came in contact with. Then a young woman, got involved, and then a third equally as Awesome as the first two, got engaged with me, and it was an awesome, most memorable dining experience. If everyone on the planet was as nice, as those employees, we wouldn't have wars, and divorce. The team work is what makes the Dream Work! You have a Dream Team working for...

Frankie's cafeteria ... Food was cold when it should have been warm. Silverware was dirty. Table was sticky. Food crumbs were on the seats and floor. Basic lunch for the two of us cost over $45.00...... over priced! Frankie's cafeteria was lucky to get one star from me because an employee carried my tray to the booth. My adult daughter had to carry her tray. It was heavy. I won't be returning, ever. Food...
