2025 We’re back! Unfortunately they didn’t have fresh crawfish. I remember growing up in WA we call it crayfish. Still one of our favorites, but note the Lao sausage is more Esan flavors.
2024 We still think the food is great and this is the only place in SA we know that serves Lao food. On this occasion, fresh crawfish is great and very reasonable at $ per lb, which could probably charge more. The Lao sausage, this has changed, not as sour or fragrant but fattier. We tried the Tom Yum soup, good value as there is lots of chicken but a bit too many chickens and would prefer less, instead more tomatoes/mushrooms and fresh chili instead of dried chilis. This and lime on the side would improve the flavor. We still enjoy dining here!
2023 Back for fresh crawfish! One of the better deals per lbs. Lao beef jerky and yummy fluffy donuts!
Lao restaurant!!!
At this moment, and please correct me, this is the only Lao restaurant in town but limited to the recognizable dishes for the local palate.
Lao sausage and sticky rice. Sausage almost perfect, I prefer dryer and less fat with the aroma of lemon grass as you bite into it. Wish there was jeow mak len to go with it.
Papaya salad. This was a bit sweet for our taste but a bit of lime fix it. Needs a little more anchovies for us but it’s Dede Lao style.
Nam khao. Almost perfect, we can tell the difference on the nam, cutting versus ripping by hand and Nam flavor.
Snow crab and crawfish boil. We knew it’s not fresh but opted to try. The crab was great, but not crawfish, not on them, just can’t beat fresh crawfish. Will be back when it’s in season.
I’m happy we found this place, year not exact to how we like our Lao food but it’s close, good value and service, will definitely be my go to Lao...
Read moreLet me begin by giving my positive review, the crawfish tail fried rice and Lao sausage are to die for..OMG absolutely flavorful. I enjoyed until the last bite Now on to the seafood, I had very high hopes that I found a seafood spot that I can finally call my absolute favorite, but was disappointed, I was excited to order my crawfish because I read that they used live crawfish instead of the frozen one and they are boiled in seasoning, not just salt water that need the butter sauce for flavor. Here is where I was disappointed, I ordered over $180 of seafood I order 3 lbs of crawfish, 2 lbs of head on shrimps, and 2 lbs of mussels,n the fired rice and the sausage. For the seafood the option for sauce was on top or on the side so I chose on top. Upon getting my order I first noticed that all of the seafood was in plates, my first concern, because where are the plastic bags I am use too? When opening the crawfish plate what I thought was a butter sauce was some sort of dry seasoning, the crawfish was very small (to be expected, because crawfish season is over) it did have a good flavor but this plate of crawfish was a very...VERY small potion I did not get any corn or potatoes, the shrimps also had this dry seasoning on it, and the mussels were nice sizes but they had very little seasoning. What upset me the most my order was missing 1 lb of crawfish, and 1 lb of mussels. I will not say this place was a complete waste because I did enjoy the rice and sausage, but I will not order seafood from here again, I was very disappointed with the seafood and this was the main reason...
Read moreI follow a crawfish Facebook page and crawfish king is always top of the list. I had been wanting to come here for months. I was so excited when I found I could make it. Food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I couldn't wait to tell my friends and family and take everyone back to find this gem. I was so pleased with everything from My entry to the restaurant to the end of the meal. My sister ordered 2 clamato on ice no alcohol and 1 club soda. She was charged 18 dollars for 2 bloody Mary's which she did not have and 2 dollars for a club soda which she did have and was totally fine. When I asked to speak to a manager Ashley came out and I can honestly say I have never been so insulted in all my life. I manage a restaurant and could never imagine speaking to one of my guest the way she spoke to me. She told me and my sister how rude we were and we were rude from the moment we walked in??? Ashley the manager asked me if I even knew what a mocktail was and I assured her I did. We paid our bill tipped 20% as the service and food were amazing... Ashley the manager left a bitter taste and I will never return or tell my friends and family how great the food was. It's been hours since I've left and I'm honestly still beside myself on how Ashley treated my sister and myself. I'll spend my money at BBs, the crawfish isn't as great but better to be treated like a civilized human being than a...
