Wayland Baptist university is such a scam. Long story short, Back in the fall I had tried attending for the Bridge BSN program... the financial aid advisor assigned ignored several emails, voicemails (for multiple weeks)etc- I finally set up an appt because I was trying to do everything I could on my end and then three weeks into the semester I find out the VA department hadn’t submitted that paperwork either. When I go to discuss this with so called “professionals” that work at WBU, I was ridiculed, belittled and left basically with a near $1800 bill... for what services you may ask? None! None at all! I was registered for classes waiting for them to do their jobs and was behind by the time they did (and they still never did everything they were supposed to) Who gets penalized? The one trying to better themself and their family- not the big business. I was told “well, we’ve got to pay the light bill” (among other unprofessional things) apparently it is acceptable for them to slack and be unprofessional. They never accepted any responsibility! They sure as hell were not on top of submitting any of my financial documents but now they want to be on top of harassing me with bills for this “service” they provided. That is a scam- When you do not provide a service you were supposed but then still charge the individual! I would not recommend this school...
Read moreI've been attending this school since the summer time and the teachers and classes there have been awesome. However, I've been having a hard time reaching anyone in the business office or getting a response via email. I'm aware that they are short staffed but they only have one person processing the VA forms. That is a single point of failure. I was informed that they have 2 new people who will need to get trained and they have until Nov 9 to process our paperwork. This is the first time that it hasn't been submitted already. And I just received a bill from the business office yesterday. How can you send me a bill for something you haven't submitted on your end that will take care of my tuition? I've been trying to be very patient with waiting because I know things happen but I submitted my form for the 2nd 8 weeks in August and I'm still waiting on it it to be sent in. I understand that they have quite a bit to send in but us veterans sometimes depend on that extra income to take care of things. Again I love the teachers here but the business office will be reason for me changing schools...
Read moreMy experience with Wayland has been trash to say the least. Long story short I am a Veterens benefit dependent and the correct documentation was not submitted by the school to the VA which would allow me to receive my benefits. The school has blame every department on where the ball was dropped until finally settling on the fact that this is some how my fault. First I was told that I did not submit or complete documentation however they provided me copies of everything I signed so that argument was null and void. Now the arguement is “oh we submitted the request you were compensated you just need to check your bank record.”After speaking with multiple VA educational assistance reps and writing a formal letter to my HOR it has been confirmed Wayland did not submit documentation. After presenting documentation to the school the response I receive was “well the VA dropped the ball somewhere but we...
