Pho 4 Star — Restaurant in Universal City

So I want to clarify I am African American and all my fellow Africans Americans should not EAT OR SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! Yesterday I got my 2 year old daughter from the hospital. Shes been Ill and with unforeseen circumstances I didnt have enough to buy her meds. So I decided to make some cash using doordash. Typically I dress professionally as I recently opened 2 businesses and I represent my brand, but yesterday I was in jogging pants, tshirt and bare face as I cried majority of that morning. I got a order to pick up for someone named Amanda at Pho. I get there and me and another woman (White) stood in line. The cashier seemed to be preoccupied and I see the order on the table in the open. I alert a staff, he says ask the cashier (The order was already paid for) So I stood in line for 7-10 minutes. The woman ahead of me had finished so I went to the cashier and stated, I had a order for Amanda. Shes like I need to see a receipt (1st time EVER ASKED) So I go back to my car and get my phone. Doordash doesn't give us the receipt, it just says what to get and if it needs to be paid for. When I come back she ignores me and turns her head to other customers sitting down. So I verified myself grabbed the bag and walked out the door. Next thing I know she charging out the door screaming at me. How many times have you called a order in and when you got there they need to see your bank statement to verify you paid that order. NEVER!! So she proceeds yelling, I have my phone displaying the app so she clearly sees I was assigned this order but because I was black in jogging pants she assumed I was there to steal. NEVER WILL I GO HERE AGAIN AND IVE ALREADY POSTED IN SEVERAL FORUM GROUPS LETTING FELLOW AFRICAN AMERICANS KNOW PLEASE DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! I could have went to jail in front of my child just trying to deliver an order and make legit money smh. This RESTAURANT should be ASSHAMED and I am definitely letting as many people as I can, especially my business partners know not to eat her. I will give money away to a homeless person before I spend a dime or pick up an order from a RACIST RESTAURANT. Even the white woman shook her head and apologized to me. SHAME ON YOU!! But I offer you parting advice. The only reason I didnt pull my licensed firearm and put in that mouth that was screaming in my face, is because my daughter was with me. God saved yo life honey because being racist and ignorant could have got your brains splattered out front your restuarant. Keep that in mind the next you decide to racially profile and harass someone, because not all black people steal but according to Texas and the Law. We still have a right to kill when defending ourselves. Pho didn't make you bullet proof and not everybody has a kid in the car or even cares. I hate I had to give you a star. You...

We have only gone a had full of times. We do like the food but the waiters are horrible everytime we go! Last night was the last straw for me. We went when It was busy so I understood that we were going to wait a little longer than usual. Here is how our experience went last night: -We waited about 15 mins at our table before anyone came to ask for our drink order. When the waiter finally came he said "what would you like to drink" no I'm sorry for the wait nothing. I then proceeded to ask him if they had boba coffee while pointing at the drink section of the menu. He then rudely goes " oh no only the drink order" I then proceeded to say "right, do yall have Boba coffee with no boba?" He said yes. I said I'll take that a large sweet tea and my bf ordered a beer. 10 mins later my bf and sweet tea arrived and said that they were making my Boba. And walked away. Now I forgot to mention, this whole time he seems very rushed. -25 mins later we were able to order our appetizers. We ordered two beef pho soups, 1 kids chicken Ramon noodles, a chicken summer roll and spicy edamame. -We received our noodle soup about 15 mins later. It was more of a here you go and then left. Our table. I actually needed an extra plate but couldn't ask because our waiter was already gone. About 8 mins later we got our beef soup and my Boba coffee. I had to stop the waiter from leaving to ask for my add ons and as I was asking for a nother beer for my bf the waiter walks away mid sentence. 5 mins alter he bring one plate of add ons. I literally had to say " before you leave we need another beer". My bf got it like 10 mins later. As we were in the middle of our meal I noticed that our edamame and summer rolls hadn't come out yet. So I stopped a different waiter to let her know we were missing it and got them shortly after.

I not once have experience this disrespect from anyone let alone a waiter. So what do you do if you receive a horrible waiters experience. Not tip? Well we didn't. Not only did he stop us at the door and had the nerve to ask us why we didn't leave a tip but they went ahead and added one them selves even though I marked no tip.

Never going there again. They give horrible customer service and then steal a tip with out authorisation...

I am not one to leave a bad review but be careful of this place because they will try to overcharge you just like they did to us. Last night as I was looking at the bill I noticed that the charges on my bill were more expensive than the prices on the menu. Our waitress who was not friendly tried telling us it’s just 124 extra and all the places are doing it cause prices are going up. And then she tried to take my money in private and told me they now tax the food separately, but you don’t get taxed at the bottom. That was another lie because even though they added it tax to each item they still added tax at the bottom. The Manager was super nice and accommodating, but even though they were trying to give me a couple dollars back, it still wasn’t the right amount because of how much the tax was and how much the items were. I said you should let your customers know the accurate prices before they order and I was told we do let you know it’s just fine print at the bottom of the menu. There was no fine print or correct explanation and it felt like a scam to me which is so sad because the PHO there is amazing.

My counter response: Thank you for your response, but you again are lying. I paid with cash and you still used a credit card charge per item along with the regular tax. I showed you I was paying with cash and I also double checked with the cashier just to be sure that it was okay if I paid with 100. He even asked my preference on change. If that is the case, then you owe me a refund on the wrongly taxed items since I paid with cash. You should ask how they want to pay before instantly putting a credit charge on their bill.
