Update to original review: Jackie the owner reached out immediately and was super friendly and understanding of our experiences with this particular employee. She handled the situation very well and acknowledged that his actions were not the experience she hoped to provide her guests. We came in this past Sunday and I was able to meet her in person. We had a wonderful delicious brunch with great service! The biggest change in my review is that you can tell that Jackie is passionate about her business and cares about the experiences her guests have. It is not my intentions to bash a local restaurant and since Jackie was so pleasant and quick to make the situation better, I wanted to update my review and we will be back more often! Thanks for the hospitality Jackie!
The gentleman that works here, mid-30's, is arrogant, rude, and makes you feel as if you are a burden. Went in on I believe a Tuesday evening, saw the sign that said 'please wait to be seated' so waited by the entrance, when he approached, I told him we had 6 people. He aggressively threw his hands up in the air (over exaggerated) and said "I don't know when I am going to be able to seat you, I mean c'mon this is a bar, not a restaurant". Funny, cause the name of the establishment you are employed at is the Mint Bar and GRILL. On another occasion, a while back, I asked for a mojito and he was very rude about it so I went with another drink that wasn't too difficult for him to make (again, treats customers as a burden). We have dined here many times, and whenever he is working, we are instantly not looking forward to the experience we are going to receive. Advice to management: Work with this guy on his customer service skills. He is very hard to approach and does not provide a good experience. Maybe it is his personality, but goodness gracious. No one wants to be treated like that when they are paying...
Read moreLimited lunch menu. Ordered a burger and fries and wings. We asked for blue cheese and ranch for the wings. The burger was supposed to have fry sauce on it. Food came out. Wings were just okay. No blue cheese. Asked for it. Burger barely had any fry sauce. No ketchup, mayo or mustard was offered. Given that they have fry sauce on the burger I would have thought I’d have some in a cup for the fries. I WAS given a cup of hot sauce. I was also charged for that sauce. I don’t eat hot sauce. Not sure why it was on my burger plate. We asked for extra napkins because, you know, wings are messy. She literally threw a bunch of cocktail napkins at us. I asked for ketchup and she told someone else to get it. “She” being the bartender/server. Mind you when we entered we sat at the bar and she was snippy from the get go. My husband ordered a beer but she whined about how busy she was and never asked me what I wanted to drink and I didn’t dare disturb her after the hot sauce incident. We are visiting for a trip to Yellowstone and heard good things about Livingston but our visit to The Mint was less than it should have been. Coming back is not an option since we are tourists but let this be a warning for...
Read moreLove the Mint, food is incredible. All sauces made in house. honey Sriracha is fantastic. My family and I used to live in Livingston and frequent to the Mint. We have since moved to Bozeman and decided to drive out to Livingston just for dinner at the Mint. Me, my husband and daughter sat down and the guy that sat us, very sweet. Our waitress was fantastic, attentive. Fish fry excellent as usual, mac and cheese perfection.
This two star review goes out to the very rude and condescending bartender who passive-aggressively talked to my husband about our daughter standing at the door and that it wasn't the place for her because it could swing and hit her. The first time she told him he nicely said, I'm right here watching her. Being a 2 year old she insisted on fiddling with the door and my husband is pulling her away and this bartender loudly says something to him again as if he isn't handling it. We felt very unwelcome, grabbed the check packed up our food and left, it is very unlikely that we will come back which is a shame. Bartender in the grey romper with brown hair, I understand that maybe you don't think the Mint is a place for a two year old but we've never had an...
